It was codenamed Pro Genji so I don't doubt it --- Double Post Merged, Apr 18, 2017 --- You suck at Overwatch
someone tag me when you lint lickers quit talking about oversquat and get back to **** talking each other
let's get it started. Keys don't make sense for doors that open via proximity. Clearly should have been an RFID chip pickup. @Dunco
NFC is a specialized field within the RFID technology. NFC range is only a couple of centimeters RFID tags can reach up to 25-100 meters which is more similar to the way it's used on Arkanum, which I designed and built by the way.
Ugh..this started out nice but fell off real quick..let me try @MultiLockOn if you're gonna make maps that dark you might as well make them sewer themed. By default all dark maps are one with the Cesspool
I was on the 'a song of ice and fire' reddit and there was a post made by schnitzel8. Could it be?...
So I finally went back and checked my zones, then compared them to Coliseum. Coliseum has the zones setup in exactly the opposite way that I did. It has the attackers spawn zone on the defenders side of the map, and the defenders spawn zone on the attackers side. This makes no sense, but what the hell do I know... So I setup my spawn zones to match the ones on Coliseum, and what do you know...I started respawning on the wrong side of the map every single time, lol. I rechecked the setup on Coliseum four times, thinking maybe I was seeing something wrong, but unless I'm missing something obvious they're totally backwards. I returned my spawn zones to the same way they were originally and then retested. I'm respawning on the correct side of the map again. But somehow you spawned on the enemies flag in your CTF game on the map, while everyone else seemed to spawn on the correct side every time. I'm so confused, lol.
I've had no motivation to work on any of my maps over the last week. Whenever that happens, I know it's time for me to start thinking about new designs to get the creative juices flowing. I pretty much never get 'forgers block' for some reason, but the exercise I did the last couple of nights would probably be really useful for people that are struggling to come up with new ideas. It's a form of forge brainstorming. I decided to go into forge with out anything particular in mind, and spend 15 minutes just building something as fast as possible. I went into it knowing that I would build something that was total ****, but not caring. The results were pretty interesting. I spent maybe 30 minutes at most on any of the 'maps', with a couple of them taking only 15 or less. The first one was kind of slow going because I was overthinking it, and it only ended up being about 1/5 of a map. A couple of them ended up with all the main paths completed. Once I got going, I had ideas flowing really fast. I was struggling to focus on one idea, because others kept flooding in. It was at lot of fun, and helped relieve some of the frustration I've been having in forge lately. My focus was just on building connections, with lots of winding and overlapping. I think it could be really useful for people to go into sessions like this with specific areas of focus in mind: Working on one of the specific styles Goat mentioned in his thread, focusing on building terrain pathing with unique angles, going on to an existing map and trying to come up with a color scheme that's different than the current one. It's kind of beside the point, but I may post some of my results when I get a chance. There were actually a couple that could turn out to be really solid designs with a few minor tweaks. I highly recommend trying this for anyone who's bored, frustrated, or struggling to come up with ideas for new designs.
