Halo is being run by a studio who has no creative vision beyond the average fanfiction.net writer, and no idea what to do with the talent they do posess because they're less concerned with making a good game and more interested in a big paycheck. It seeps through every crevice in their code, from the arbitrary redesigns and retcons to the multitude of misfires in their attempt to innovate, and it befouls that which remains. They fully embody the "change for the sake of change" mantra and have yet to contribute anything significant to the artistry or pop cultural relevance of Halo after 7 years. They have not only tainted the brand with their misguided meddling and tone-deaf tinkering, but have also doomed the Xbox One to a life of catch up, as the gaming community at large knows all too well that Halo is no longer a system seller. Truly, gone are the days when Halo multiplayer alone justified a console purchase. Perhaps 343's greatest achievement is that they may be the first company capable of getting people to buy the competition. Halo is no longer relevant, and you can't get away with blaming Call of Duty for it anymore. Dark times are ahead. Forge is a beacon of light shining into a void of stupidity.
That upside down geomerged open box tho. And the single box that was merged to be like 2 feet above the ground. Good **** right there. If forge ever devolves into the stone age again zombie will run this place lol
You regain your usual speed and air control once hovering ends or it's canceled out of, but hovering is generally just used as a "third jump" or to stay in place midair, depending. It's a class-based shooter and the two mid-to-long range classes (there's 8 total) have a perk that doubles your air speed while hovering as opposed to quartering it, which makes the ability act as more of a Warframe-style airdash as opposed to something used for precision or platforming. Like I said, though, with no radar more deliberate sound design is kind of a necessary evil, otherwise players without proper spatial awareness or experience are going to be getting murked from behind in sniper towers wondering how the hell the enemy even got there, and stuff like that. And yeah, at the moment I post all of my WIP vids on youtube or at r/unrealengine.
Let's be fair here, the gaming landscape is not what it was back in good old 2001. The competition was thin and games stuck around for years. Gamers were constantly starved for content and it was commonplace for expansions not to come out for at least a year. These days we're all a bunch of bloated pigs sitting at an oversized buffet, constantly complaining how there is nothing that we want to eat. If it takes more than 2 months for some sort of expansion - we complain. If the expansion is too small - we complain. If the expansion is large and costs more - we complain. If an expansion comes out few months later, is reasonably large, with a moderate price - we complain that we're getting ripped off because it was obviously already part of the game. I can't help but feel that user feedback is killing creativity. I would not want to be tasked with the job of satisfying all of us. footnote: I'm a firm believer in proper game expansions. I would honestly prefer to get a a full fledged game release with some staggered minor free content updates, and every year for at least 3 years put out large (appropriately priced) expansions, roughly 40% and up of the original content. The reason I prefer this method is that it no one has ever expected an expansion to change the formula of a game. It's literally expanding on the original content to make an even fuller game. Meanwhile in the background developers are given the time to hone the story and features of the future title release.
I find it funny how much Destiny has lowered peoples expectations for content at launch. To the point were bloated pigs when we get a bunch of unpolished and incomplete games all the time. Something that never used to happen.
And this is why I refuse to by the "expansions" unless they are 50% off and I won't be preordering Destiny 2. Funny as they are, I'm not falling for the hype trailers this time around.
I really want Destiny 2 but am very disappointed to see they are using the exact same expansion system. I may buy in this time around though. You need the expansions to stay relevant, and I would assume it's better handled than than the first time around. I don't want to, but I might buy in.
I'll probably only buy destiny 2 if I see a lot of people on my friends list with it. When I played it hardly anyone I knew played so I missed out on all the raids
You could get a group together in no time using the app and the right threads. I had some good fun raids with randoms. I dropped the game just after HoW because I was done with it. Not sure if I'm going to buy Destiny 2 but will most certain check youtube at beta time to see what's new and improved. Edit: my stupid friends who didn't play back then do play it now lol.
Can we just take a second to acknowledge that Destiny 2 is already taking preorders when we haven't seen a single frame of actual gameplay footage yet
I preordered Destiny after the Beta not realizing I had just played 1/3 of the game. None of my friends had the spare change to throw down on an Xbox One and they weren't interested in buying it for the 360 with the imminent upgrade in order. Finally about a year and a bit later everyone got the consoles and the game with updates before I finally got around to playing through the whole thing. I still haven't done a raid because my team is only 3 2/3's men strong. I give the kid a 2/3's on account of being a post pube.
Yeah I've played Destiny on the 360 and my friends play in on the Xbone now. But when is the beta of Destiny 2 coming exactly? Or is it live already?
New Piratey project - took a lot of work to get the ships this detailed and still drivable. (worth noting the tank doesn't appear in custom games, just Forge)
