So right off the bat. Movement looks a lot slower than Quake3. And there are a LOT of sounds going in the video, might be because I'm listening through a phone speaker and an actual headset could alleviate that. The character voices are dumb. Also armor drops on a kill is a bad choice I think. Other than that the game looks mechanical pretty good. And visually one of the best I've ever seen.
That's slow movement? That's way too damn fast for my tastes. I mean that's ridiculous. You can barely see your opponent just zipping around the entire map at light speed. Crazy to me.
On what grounds? People consider Halo an Arena Shooter and all the game has going for it is pretty much even starts and weapons on map. Good. That allows for really awesome gameplay and level design.
Don't worry villain, Goat is a shitposter. The game is NOT slow-paced. However, compared to Quake 3, it's a bit slow.
I wasn't commenting on preference, I'm just saying for a quake game that's a bit slow. Check out any quakecon match from last year and you'll see how fast Quake can be. Like goat said though, it allows you to have way more flexible level design. I think it's good game design
To think people used to ***** about the hopping in Halo. I could barely stand to watch that whole clip.
It's not the most inviting style, so I can understand people disliking the game. However, it's genius for the competitive scene. All the same decisions and forethought as a normal shooter, of not more, at 10 times the speed. Aiming is also a lot harder.
I'd say Halo's slower, more methodical gameplay (before 'Halo: Infinite Warfare') focuses on teamwork rather than individual skill (that's why I like Halo over Quake [that's why my game's essentially a H:CE clone]). Is that the purple filter?
