I for one, as a senior member who's been here since before sandbox came out in Halo 3, feel that it's being blown way out of proportion. Heated discussion that lasted a couple days tops can't be blamed for the lack of new members joining and staying lol. Halo has been dying a slow painful death and even I am still coming to this site daily checking the Waywo. I haven't even forged in a year but I keep coming back to that single thread. You can't blame a flare up of arguments (that more than doubled the traffic in this forum) for low population of a dying game. Happened in the end of Reach days into Halo 4 & H2A. I've sat here through all of these low points yet I'm still here. The only thing keeping me interested was the Waywo. It's silly. Then after the fact, it dies down and THEN you lock the thread. Cmon guys. Also, I don't get this whole "older members elitist aura". I've been here longer than most of the people still here and I was even highly praised back in the day and I will be the 1st to tell you I am elite to nobody. Get outta here with that. The people that played that card back in H4 days are long gone.
We really didn't want to close the thread. The staff had a conversation recently and we'll be opening it up tomorrow. We will also be making sure that we monitor our threads more diligently so that we don't have to ever come to a resolution like this again in the future. Its just not fair to close down a public thread because of the actions of a few individuals. We'll do our best to make sure these public threads stay available to everyone that also means we'll be doing our jobs as moderators more so please be courteous to your fellow forge peers
Just because the rules could be broken so long doesn't mean they deserve to be broken longer. End of the day it's admins choice, his way or the highway. I would pack your bags if you are going to continue to justify this.

It took 3 years and 9 months to get the WAYWO thread locked. I must say I'm not just disappointed, but embarrassed. 3 years 9 months? What kind of example is that showing to the new members? We need to be better dammit, not just as individuals but as a community. Now when that thread gets unlocked tomorrow I expect us to get it locked again in a matter of days. Not three years, not a year, not 6 months....days... Stop being pussies and let's get it done.
