Hello, So for about a few months ive been trying to encourage people to drop a small comment on whether they enjoy playing on my maps or they dislike it. A way ive been trying to encourage feedback is to keep updating and bringing out new maps as often as possible. One of my new maps Dead zone A ( which is a day z map) is now getting a small update every monday and still i get downloads but no comment on the map. This isnt a rant but more of a dissapointment as i joined this website hoping to get feedback or some sort of recognision. I do know that not all the time im going to get feedback but i have only had one map that received feedback and the last comment was in october last year. I really do listen and reply to any comments and devote a lot of time into creating my maps only to not get any where. I hope some sort of system can be put in place to help new maps made by less known forgers get some sort of feedback because i know im not the only one to have this problem and its just fustrating. Sorry for the little moan but hoprfully i can get some advice of some sort thank you for reading. Tomcat7521
The easiest way to get feedback is through entering your maps into the playtest lobbies. If you are on you can join the session but be prepared to playtest other people's maps. And, ask people to give you feedback specifically in a message. Most people will be helpful but understand that sometimes we are busy or need some alone time so don't sweat it if you don't get a response. However, most people are willing to give feedback but you got to be willing to help out other forgers to help give back to the community. Network bro.
Here's a bunch of lobbies you can submit to: https://www.forgehub.com/threads/forge-cast-week-of-march-26th.155877/
Now that i see some of your points i can find the time to play test other people maps in exchange for feedback on my own. I never expect feedback all the time as its just something that womt always happen I have taken my own maps into play testing as its something i do regularly as i go into theater and spot faults. I just tried at first to catch peoples attention which is clearly not as easy as i origanly thought it would be. I do thank you all for the comments Ive just seen your message a chunk and thank you
This is normal buddy, i've been here a while and don't get many comments, just so you know don't be discouraged
I think a big thing that happens is that people aren't sure if they are "qualified" to give feedback. Some people feel like the feedback has to be like a full report, so it can deter people who just wanna leave a small comment. I have noticed though that if one or two people just kinda break the ice, it helps. **Also, literally submit it to any of the ATN lobbies and you are guaranteed feedback. Host a public match, if you have a mini game just message them "Why you leave" and a good amount respond, for core games its probably not as effective but you can usually get a good feel, just make sure the map plays the way YOU want it to, if you want a cramped close quarters map, don't listen to advice that completely contradicts your vision and desire for the map. Also try to not completely dismiss all advice you may not agree with and actually think about it. once the map feels fair for everyone and fun its good to go. Some people WILL give advice that is either bad or doesn't fit what you desire for the map, it is your job to listen to them and see what valuable information you can gather that helps you fit the map to your vision and balance it.
When I am ready to test my map, I will probably submit to some lobbies, AND start lobbies in PC land where the gametype is renamed to "BETA TEST MY MAP" so people know what they are getting into, and will hopefully realize I need their feedback...
Yet again thanks for all the advice and your time. I have read all comments and have taken them into acount
