So I was building a map that is intended to use Tidal's "Meteor Shower" skybox. After roughly 500 pieces, the map started to have this odd red glow to it which has no explainable source. There are no lighting objects that are causing this, putting a roof over the map doesn't solve it, and it is absolutely map breaking and hideous. Even the canvas boundary markers are glowing red! Has anyone encountered this weird glitch before? Is there a workaround? I've never seen anything like it and I put a lot of work into a map that I don't want to sit idle because of it.
Is there an object going through the cube map location? I think meteor showers location is 0,0,-120. Sometimes objects near that location can have their coloring picked up and spread through the map
I can't say I've had that problem, and I built a map outside of Tidal using the entire object budget.
It happens sometimes randomly, delete objects in order of most recently placed until you find your culprit.
I've had an issue with the emissive overlay on that map with the meteor shower skybox. If you have an emmisive block on your map that could be the issue too.
Thanks for all your suggestions, the issue seemed to have just worked itself out? It died down a bit when I reduced lightmap to around 80%, and eventually just disappeared completely. For the record, I did have emissive blocks, but none were red. In fact, I didn't have a single red piece on the map at the time! I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Had me worried. Now if only the Link Screenshot thing can work itself out like this...
Use the desktop Xbox app/Game DVR to download, then upload your screenshots. They will be available for linking under the PC tab.
Are you referring to Waypoint's content browser as a means of linking them? If so, the option doesn't work there either. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean by "PC Tab". I appreciate the advice though, NOKYARD.
You link them via the Xbox Beta app on Windows 10. You tell the software it is from Halo 5: Forge. These screenshots (if approved) will appear in game under the PC tab when linking screenshots on Xbox.
That's a huge help, thank you! I don't have a PC or Laptop currently but I will pretty soon. Here's to hoping the glitch will be fixed by then anyway.
If you have The Windows 10 Xbox app, the Game DVR page will be able to access your screen shots almost immediately. With the Windows 10 App on the 'On Xbox Live' tab, select your screen shot and click the Download button. Change to the 'On This PC' tab, your screen shot will show up after a minute or two, then click the Upload button. Your pics will be now be available for linking in the Xbox One's Halo 5 File Browser under the 'PC' tab. If you are still having difficulties make sure your Windows 10 (Beta) Xbox App is up to date, points to the correct C:Users/***/Videos/Captures folder in the Settings/Game DVR tab, the Game DVR is set to On in the Settings/Game DVR tab, and your Xbox One is connected to the app using the Connection button (above Settings).
Thanks for that workaround, I've been searching for WEEKS :/ couldn't even link to my GitM submission, which really fried my hide. My question now is how to you reassociate a screenshot to Halo 5? Some say Unknown and won't upload, even after I delete and try again.
Is there any kill/safe area boundaries with their visuals on? It's either that or you're building on the cube map location as previously stated ^^
All of that is set up as most of the screenshots work using this method. Just the occasional one doesn't appear to be recognized (and, of course, it's usually my favorite ones :/)
