> complains about depth perception from a lack of colors > was a Reach forger I literally don't want to hear that complaint from anyone ever again lol we all went nearly a decade without any contrasting colors at all.
I don't know what that's supposed to mean, Quake's teleporters were usually made fairly obvious. Then again, I only really played the id shooters. It could have been different in Unreal. Do they not show up in Forge?
@MultiLockOn Thats exactly what I'm talking about. What were "my choices"? The list is based on all four judges' ratings. You're upset because I tried to handle the role responsibly and professionally. Instead of deflecting the blame by saying "I didn't like that map it wasn't my choice", I respected the outcome based on all of our experiences after testing. It's people like you that had one judge constantly second guessing themselves to the point that it became an obstacle for the contest. You would never be happy with the outcome, regardless of the maps chosen. I have still yet to see your holy list of should-be winners for the contest.
What the **** is wrong with green rectangles?! I also enjoy legion more than oblivion You guys are all nuts, everyone should be forced to make 10 maps and then we can really roast each other
I was just kidding about the shrine being gay. I was just following the trend of taking a dump on your maps. I like Oblivion, & the shrine but I never played either lol. I played legion and hated it because it's too sweaty for my shot missing ass. I want to hide and run on a map so obviously if you can't do that on legion then it's a garbage map. Right? That's competitive logic right there.
( @MultiLockOn and the Sentinels) I'm gonna fight 'em off A seven nation army couldn't hold me back They're gonna rip Port 66 Taking their time right behind my back And I'm talking to myself at night Because I can't forget Back and forth through my mind Behind a fat rolled joint And the messages coming from the fourms Says leave it alone... (@Everyone complaining about unconventional teleporters) Don't want to hear about it Every single one's got a story to tell Everyone knows about it From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell! And if I catch it coming back my way I'm gonna serve it to you And that ain't what you want to hear But that's what I'll do And the feeling coming from my bones Says make a BTB I'm going to Alpine Far from this opera at forgehub for evermore I'm gonna work the blocks Make the sweat drip out of every pore And I'm forging, and I'm forging, and I'm forging Right before the Lord All the objects are gonna bleed from me And I will think no more! And the stains coming from my blood Tell me go back home
I don't know what that means, but if you're going to say that it wasn't at the very least an obstacle, you'd be wrong. You let outside pressure influence your judging, and it was a burden on all of the judges.
I was unable to judge for two weeks, during which the judging dramatically accelerated because all of a sudden we were judging maps for 343's matchmaking playlist, and when I returned the list went from 30 to 5. You want to talk about burdens then how about that interfering with the cadence of selecting maps. All I implied back then was that the selections would generate controversy - and lo and behold, there were several.
I don't really remember all the entries too well at this point but if you link me a list to them Ill gladly give you a top 5. Better yet just give me your top 30 and I could work from there. Regardless, I would've cut orxygns and Malta the second I loaded them up. And both of solos maps were horrendous camp fests that had players tuning on toggle crouch before the games which never went to score. None of this dismisses the fact that your map preferences are so stale and unimaginative that you shouldn't have been let anywhere near a judging panel. Seriously if something as simple as a hallway tele was "the most confusing experience ever" you have no business making maps let alone judging them. And you still won't admit Malta is awful. That's either pride or stupidity. Seriously I should've caved a made a solo map replica in 20 minutes and run away with the money. You would've loved it.
I like that people are enjoying Legion now, no one liked it at the time lmao especially to like how it plays more than Oblivion...That's awesome. Thanks peeps. Where were you faggots a year ago.
I'm not talking about you not being there for two weeks, I'm talking about you being so fearful of public reaction, that you were hesitating to even have opinions. Not to mention the private messages to non-judges disclosing what maps were still being tested. It was Multi you were talking to if I'm not mistaken.
I like how you keep bringing up Solo for some stupid reason. Hazard was Seth's design. Solo didn't even win the contest. Warholic chose me because he trusts my judgement. I understand gameplay to the point that bullshit gimmicks won't make me look past a very flawed design. Unfortunately for you. I said it was "one of the most awkward teleporters I've experienced". The reason being that most people don't mess up something so simple. You try so desperately to be different, and it results in your map's functionality suffering. Solo's a proven map designer. He understands gameplay at a deeper level than you do. The fact that you think Dream On is Solo's best map speaks volumes of your skewed perspective of map design. Your map wouldn't have won my favor either way if it had the same flaws as Legion. --- Double Post Merged, Mar 24, 2017 --- I could be mistaken, like I said. I'm not too bothered to find out who it was, but it happened.
Because hazard and hangar both placed, did they not? They both were chosen for the doubles playlist. Right? And those were two of your choices, right? And hazard was half solo. Hangar was all solo. And he received money for both. I want you to actually put into words what exactly is wrong with Legions design right here in front of everyone, because I'm actually curious. And try to avoid using the frivolous word fluff nonsense like in your last post and actually explain what exactly about the map is flawed. It's funny because solo said the same thing only he thought the BOTTOM corner was overpowered. I challenged him to play me on it abusing that corner, and when he tried he was losing 17-3 before he rage quit. Dream On is absolutely solos best work because it's not a bunch of octagons or a tic tac toe board like his more recent work. Do you seriously think I couldn't **** out a Hazard or an Angst in 20 minutes, let alone half the people on this forum. I chose to break boundaries so I don't sit in a ridiculous box and cry every time I see a teleporter that's not green. Once again, it's literally a hallway. With a tele at the end. If that's too much for you, don't make maps. And you still won't admit that Malta was **** lmao
