No, I used the shop fence to replace a mesh walkway that was up there. It was either that, a solid piece you couldn't see through, or glass. I'm semi content with it. It's a pretty simple map and I have no idea how I will art it up. It was more floating industrial facility originally, I felt castle on a cliff seemed a little better.
I'll give you another hint - My first hint though obvious once you know what you're looking at, is also a kind of distraction. I've actually already given you the name of the map.
Being serious for a moment, I never played the game your hint alludes to, so I have no idea what you're remaking, but the map looks pretty interesting.
I feel like the phrase interesting is an overstatement. It's got to be the most simple and useless map design ever, but you put the right weapons in the right spots and it can be a hell of a lot of fun. The real problem is the game had some pretty specific mechanics and unique weapons so it's not going to be as much fun in the Halo engine. That being said, it was one of my favorite old school Maps.
Work continues on the 3K_Smash map. It's almost done, just need to move the spinner up and it should be ready. Instead of just having an open box to the sky, I put some rocks and terrain down to look like the whole arena was in some forgotten valley, complete with waterfalls and vines. It doesn't look like much compared to a lot of images in this thread, but it's something.
I just meant interesting in the sense that the design itself doesn't look boring. I'm sure the map will play like ****, because Halo 5.
For those that were curious, the map is: Red Faction - Watch your step Some adjustments have been made to ensure that even if people didn't use a gametype the map would still be playable. Namely increases in height. Other smaller adjustments have been made to keep things interesting in lieu of the lack of the Geo-mod engine. I have chosen to alter some if not most weapons and weapon locations, opting instead to keep the intensity of the original map, as opposed to failing to track down exact weapon matches. Since I will likely never complete this map, much like my other maps, due to my inability to properly test it and the lack of motivation that comes with that, I will enable it in a playable state sometime in the next week.
