The movie The Mist as a map. A submarine. Hotel California, or Winter Quay from doctor who with the weeping angels. An under construction skyscraper that consists of a bunch of girders and some actually finished floors, think the first Die Hard movie.
You could totally take the premise of my new infection map. Basically, I see it as more of a standalone entry to zombies, similar to like Shadows of Evil or whatever the 1940's jeff goldblum one was called. Takes place inside the nightmares of a boy terrified of the horror movies his older sister makes him watch. the boy and 3 other heroes (maybe giant versions of his action figures or something?) fight off zombies, aliens, demons, etc. in various familiar horror movie locations (a creepy church, a haunted house, a shadowy farm, ufo crash site) all woven together very randomly, very dream-like. Like all of these terrible things, people, creatures, locations, etc. he saw in the movies have meshed together and have taken over his dreams. You could have sooooo many callbacks and references to famous/infamous horror movies. And obviously all of this stuff would be generic and not similar enough to actual films to cause any licensing issues. It would be a little lighter I guess, but still, cool idea i guess.
Wow, I was actually thinking he'd be a prime character to rip off and have as a generic giant playable action figure.
I actually like the 343 studios plan. Is there a map of their facility online? That livestream had a good tour of it.
I'm designing an Extermination map, not something I plan on winning any contests with but thought it would be a fun project! So far, it plays 2v2 really well. It might be big for Extermination so I'm thinking about static spawning. Download Map:http://goo.gl/4KOJ10
Scar-H, F2000, and HCAR. It's meant to be used like a Halo DMR with the rpm of the Carbine, and, of course, projectiles will be used rather than hitscan.
