Hey everyone,
It's crazy to think that January has come and gone just like that! With a new year comes new beginnings, new resolutions, new dreams and in our case, a ton of new amazing maps created by you, the community! All of the votes are in and without further delay, I present the community favorites for January, 2017!
Using his well-established art talent, @ZombieDyer5 has created an assortment of hyper realistic aesthetic spaces based on areas in New York City. Even though the spaces are small, they are packed full of detail and charm that well deserves a closer look.
Strongly inspired by the horror movie, Don't Breathe, @leviatan094 has managed to create a suspense-driven minigame focused around staying away from the "blind" man. The entire atmosphere is filled with eerie lighting and wonderful attention to aesthetic detail. If you enjoy a good scare, I highly recommend giving this a download.
Being no stranger to creating Vex themed maps, @Ascend Hyperion has managed to cultivate his knowledge of the theme and has bloomed a beautiful work of art. Not only does this map look pretty, but it has been masterfully designed, from the ground up, to work with the Extermination gametype. Having a simple layout at its core, Timeframe relies on players to make use of the environment and use strong teamwork to solidify victory.
When the Monitor's Bounty update released, we were introduced to a plethora of new sanghelios objects to forge with. Wanting to challenge himself, @Sikamikanico gave himself a mere 12 hours to see what he could create with the new palette of objects at his disposal. Elixir is the final product of his endeavors and what he has managed to do with the map in as little as 12 hours is absolutely outstanding. Elixir is an asymmetric map designed for 4v4 or 2v2 matches that incorporates great verticality differentiation and interesting flow that meshes together well with the organic looking terrain and sprawling sanghelios aesthetics throughout the map. The map is a true testament to what can be done in such little time regardless of preparation. Well done and congratulations once again @Sikamikanico!
With that being said, this concludes the results to January's community favorites! We look forward to what will be in store for next month's favorites. Be sure to give all the authors that had map nominations some love and let us know what you thought of the results. Don't forget to vote every month! Thanks for your time
