hi, I've recently spent many hours on a map and I'm really proud of the design. Just started testing the past couple of days and there's an issue where grenades don't do any damage in the red tower and on some of the bend/alley area. I'm going to attach a video to demonstrate what I mean. Some of the things I've done to try to rectify this are - Weld the floor objects where no damage is done Bring the blocks that make up the tower to the exact same level as each other Merge the blocks together Remove the invisible blockers needed to clamber onto the tower. Nothing seems to work unfortunately Any help would be massively appreciated because I've spent a lot of time on this new map and I was looking forward to submitting here and perhaps to a few YouTube channels. When you say layering, do you man merging blocks? There's a few merged blocks in the area, but for the most part they're magnetised
I have done - about 8 games in the past two or three days. This is an issue in both customs and forge
You could try placing projectile barriers on the floor. That's really weird though, no idea why that's happening.
Hi thanks for the advice! I tried the projectile blockers and unfortunately that didn't work. Through a process of elimination I discovered that deleting the floor of the map solved the problem. I made wooden 'floor boards' from blocks that were previously part of a prefab, I'm not sure if that was the cause of the glitch but it definitely those blocks that were causing the issue. Any part of the tower that stood over the floor boards had this grenade glitch, so moving the floor boards over solved the glitch. Great work on Aerocrest btw! I actually messaged you on Xbox live to ask the other day - would you mind if I used your banner design as a prefab in my map? I would be really grateful if so, since my map is very much castle themed. I would give you credit for the design on here and on waypoint if you do let me of course!
Oh **** I always forget about xbox messages... yeah sure go ahead and use it. It wasn't too difficult to make though, just put some different-colored chromas in a design you like.
Thanks a lot for letting me use your design man! Unfortunately my map is more f*cked than I realised. Turns out the grenade issue is everywhere, which is really annoying and I have no clue how to correct it. I spent many hours on this map too. Not sure if this can be rectified atm though, I've noticed that on Fullmetal (at least in my bookmarked version( the rockets don't do any damage in a similar fashion to this at certain points of the map - not sure if that's cos the spunkrs are glitchy though!
start building an identical floor outside of your main map, as a test. Then, as you change settings to get closer to your actual desired floor design, keep throwing grenades onto it at each step (each setting changed) and see if/when it eventually starts glitching. Whichever setting you've changed last, must be the thing causing the glitch. Good luck
Hey man, thanks for the suggestion. After I realised the problem was happening all around my map (not just the floor at the dry bottom), I deleted the floor because it seemed like that was causing the issue. It didn't stop the glitch happening elsewhere, i.e. higher than the deleted floor. I do think it's a good suggestion though. If I built another floor outside of the map I could see if grenades might work there, which could help me isolate the cause. Thanks for the suggestion !
