I popped onto Anent to refresh my memory, then I jumped on Devotion to see how it's changed. What an awesome job. At first I was worried that it may not translate well with the Halo 5 mechanics. Man was I happy to be so wrong. It felt great ripping around this map. All of the small ledges you had previously, feel great to use in this re-imagining. With the little experience I have with this map, so far, I like Devotion even more in Halo 5 than I did Anent in Halo Reach. I loved how you thought outside the map with your little death pit. That was a unique way to make it not seem as out of place. I even like how you made it necessary to hop out for the power up. I'm not sure how it would have tuned out but you could also have turned it into a double hop ledge by shortening it and putting the power up island in the middle. The Vex map style is a good way to give those shapeless but fun old maps a design that makes them feel more purposeful. In a similar manner Microsoft had a great idea with the Breakout pieces, but the Vex structures feel more interesting and less like a cheat. I hope in the next iteration of Forge we get more thematic breakout type pieces. I wish I could be this creative when re-making my own maps. Instead all I can come up with is a slightly more realized version of the original idea. Great Job. I'm looking forward to having a match on this.
Hey, thanks for the comment, man. For the damage boost death pit, it never really came to mind on making that path smaller and making the stepping stone in the middle lol it might be worth a shot to try it though. Might be just a little too small to do it. It's a great idea non the less. But yeah, add me on xbl and we can get some games in. Glad you like it
