My reaction is simply. You suck, let me know when you make something you don't have to convince people isn't ****.
There is always 1 or 2 passive agressive assholes in testing lobbies that you just wish would get chokeslammed in the middle of the game. You would think some of these people are selling a product with all the self promotion they have. A lot of "advice" people give almost never respects the creators vision, or on the other side they will complain about advice when they ask for it.
Everyone is passive aggressive in this community. It is just based on if they like you or your style. I have been a pariah in this community for most of my time forging. Do I care? Hell no. I think the best example of a person who has pushed through this is Chronmeister. You just got to say **** it and not get too invested in your maps. Think of it this way. It is a map on a game that nobody plays. Why should I care too much? Am I accomplishing the goals I had in mind with the map? Just use forge for what it is. A introductory tool into level design. People get too invested.
"too segmented" "I got spawn killed" "We are playing <insert gametype>?" "Its Stigma..." "Well this map is crap" "The map is too open" "I had some hot spawns" "Is this a block out?" "Too vertical" "No veritcality" "Not enough interesting engagements" "No interesting interactions" "Can we just play my map" "thanks for playing my map" - then leaves the lobby "Let me know when you have 7 and ill join..." "Give me lead" "Automatics are too OP" "I hate thrusters" "Turn off radar" "If I wanted to play <insert game> I would be playing <insert game>" - referring to remakes "This map was made by <insert gamer tag>... ugh" Just to name a few.
Therein lies the problem with Forge. People take it serious enough to be uptight about design theory, but not serious enough to actually care about it beyond the scope of Forge. That's the reason everything is so passive aggressive.
"Your frigates don't look like UNSC Frigates, you should scrap your map, take infinity siege as an example and take inspiration from it" "Minigame kid" "Not enough verticality" Extra: "Whats your Xbox kill count at?"
"**** these spawns..." "Can you change the hill's opacity?" "GL is broken..." "This map is one-sided." "Where are my teammates!?" "*inaudible-mic-down-throat-ear-rape*"
