I'm going to attempt to make my own gametype for all of my own maps. Sprint, Spartan Charge and Ground Pound will be disabled Thrust will be shorter but unlimited Clamber may or may not remain if I get a moon jump power up to work Player movement will be much faster and horizontal movement will be even more so Radar will be disabled The main draw will be that there will be no recharging shields, because recharging shields are ****ing stupid and let people sit in one spot with no punishment or incentive to leave. Power weapons are not enough anymore. I'm going to try and script shield pick ups around the map so there will be +10, +50, and +100 shield pick ups placed in strategic locations. I'm also going to try and see if I can get a quad damage pick up to work. In the end, I'm just going to end up playing shitty Quake, but I'd rather play that than Halo which is holding back my level design at this point.
I've been waiting for something like this. And if you put it together, I'll be using it for all my future maps.
First off, If I wanted to play shitty Quake I'd play Reflex, not Halo. Secondly, recharging shields are the best thing to happen to FPS (CE said so). And finally...! Oh, **** it. I should stop trying to be funny and actually forge something for once.
Well CE had health, fall damage, fast kill times and insane grenades. Halo 5 has weak ass weapons and insane movement LOL
Which scenario breeds more interesting level design? Infinite possibilities, or Limited possibilities?
Well think of Forge. We take the assets from a scope of limited possibilities, and make unlimited things with them.
I like that a donut is only thought of by most as being a circle. What if you have a non donut within a donut or vice versa. Donuts can be so much more than what people actually think. A donut is a map rotational flow on the perimeter. What happens inside of that perimeter can vary greatly.
Is there a "testers guild" out there anymore, or somewhere to ask about map testing? I remember in the Reach days there was an area for that.
It seems like there are about a bazillions testing lobbies running regularly now. The ones listed in the Forge-Cast are mostly good options.
