I want a Highground map and I haven't seen one yet. Might go at it myself but not sure where to take it.
Optimally there should be a straight remake for the new onslaught of 1flag 1bomb hype, c9 for Slayer and symmetric objective, and one that puts them together for a btb map
You're joking right. He asked for a high ground inspired map and I recommended the literal single one I know.
I vote remix. Make it on barrens cuz that place is amazeballs. But seriously, stay true to the layout but give it a different coat of paint (like most official remakes from devs are handled). It's still easy to give off nostalgia rays while not getting too close to an exact match, which brings out more criticism of the "sameness" factor.
Yeah if I went about it that way I think I'd make the base on a cliff side instead of a beach. Maybe a martian base or even Cov it up with the theme.
It didn't look to me like he was asking, but whatever... C9 is an awesome map and while it may have been inspired by High Ground, I can't really look at it and say it's a High Grounds map, ya know?

The magic of highground is lost for me as soon as i play it in any other halo game I seen a remake or two of it in H5 though, none too impressive. Just make sure you scale properly and revitalise the aesthetics and you'll do fine
So I think I know how I'm going to go about with this one. I'm thinking of flipping the layout (sniper cave on left instead of right, etc.) and going with a Covenant themed base in the cliffs. The shoreline will be replaced with a plateau edge and the overall terrain will mimic the original (but flipped) with slight variations. The tower area will have the Cov sniper lift incorporated in it and the remainder of the base will follow the curve/rounded Covenant design. The main gates entrance will be energy shielded to allow view into the base but will still require entering the base to turn off from the inside. Sneaky tunnel, broken wall, bunker, and all other entry points are planned to be included. Any other ideas I'm glad to hear them
Sounds great! Maybe expand on the vehicle routes a little bit (the covie theme should make it easier) And side note: I have a handful of covie prefabs if you need some inspiration
