Can anyone tell me why forging on H5 uses up so much internet data and if there's a way to decrease it so I can actually finish my map before using up my meagre 5 Gig prepaid limit... I put $20 worth (2 Gig) on my pre-paid pocket wifi the other day, went into forge and used up that 2 gig in less than 5 hours. I now have just over 4 Gig or $40 worth of data and REALLY want to keep forging but can't afford to at this rate. Is there a setting I'm missing or some sort of trick to it? For example,,, If I were to build my map in smaller sections on different maps and then pull them all together as I go will that decrease the rate of data usage as a whole or would I just be wasting my time? .......... Also, down the bottom of the map in all those boxes, the one that says [ LIGHTING ] or whatever is in the RED at %130 Percent - Could that be having an effect on usage, and what the hell does it mean anyway? haha........... PS. Forgive the idiot questions but I've only had the xBox 1for a few weeks so I'm back to being a Forge Noob. Thanx Peeps.
Everything in Halo 5 uses data. Forge is online only, so it is constantly sending and receiving info across the internet. Only single player campaign is the only thing that doesn't actually use internet, but it still sends and receives data if you're connected to the internet. You really won't be able to use forge for long if you have a limited supply of internet data.
Lemee, I don't know your situation, but if you're spending $50 on prepaid mobile internet a month, it might be worth putting that money towards an ISP for in-home wifi. Comcast has a **** reputation, but you can get their base internet plans with a 300 GB data cap for like, $30 where I live, and passable speeds. I would assume there's a comparable ISP where you live if you're willing to look.
