Knife Fight This map is an organized knife fight (you may recall somthing similar in Counter Strike). There are no way's to break the rules in this map, no way's to interupt the organization of the fight, or escape the map. This is a 5 person game, it takes place in this central octagon. In this photo you see two people in the holding cells, as well as an entrance into the octagon (the otherside of this map is identical to what you see here) At the beginning everyone is allowed out of those holding cells you see there. All of you will fight in the arena until there is one man left. You can see 2 people combating in the octagon here. Now this is where it get's interesting. After the intial free for all, everyone but the last person to have survived that free for all will respawn back in their cells, which they cannot escape due to the grav lift you see here. Now the person who is actually in the arena (the only man to have survived the intial free for all) get's to choose his opponet by shooting the fusion coils pictures below here. You can see here a guy we were playing with selecting his opponent. The fusion coils you shoot fall and knock out the grav lift (the guy in the cell is unable to destroy the grav lift himself. Once the grav lift is out the opponent is set free, and enters into the octagon to square off against you. If you win, select your next opponent the same way. The score is to ten, this game is amazingly fun and I know you will love it, all the people we have played it with love it, and have been begging me to let them download it, but this is the first time i've publicly made it available. although this map seems basic, it looks like a lot of fun...i love how you made so the people go back into their cells...very creative and i will download
It is basic, I thought simple would be best, I concentrated on gameplay rather than aesthetics, it is very very fun. But like I said if someone would like to remake this, more aesteticly let me know, and we can talk about what to do.
the choose your next competitor is creative and i like the way the arena looks but IMO this should be in casual maps because of of the choose your competitor gimmick. but thats my opinion only. anyways good job

it looks really good and nice idea but if they hav guns ppl might just shoot eachother, wat if coz of the new beatdown system the two left kill each othe/ besides that looks really funr

Wow, that is an absolutely ingenious system for a game. Kudos to you, my friend, amazing job. Maybe you could add some cover in the ring, though.
Very creative idea. I love the concept. Especially how the last one standing chooses his opponents. I'll DL. Only this I can't see from the pics are is that hopefully the fusion coil and grav lift reappear in like 15 secs so it is not constantly open. Also, I wish more than 5 people could participate ^_^
Yeah the moose guy has a good point about respawing in the open box. Also how does the weapon part of the game work. Do you spawn with it or does it spawn on the map and does it have infinate ammo?
Ohkay, Once you are chosen and set free, the grav lift holding you in the cell will respawn in 10 seconds (and trust me your battle will last longer than ten seconds) Fusion coils also spawn every ten seconds. You start with only a sword no grenades, the assault rifles are in the center for you to use to choose your opponent, you can use the assault rifle for fighting if you wish, but i can almost guarentee your opponent with the sword will kill you.
thanks man, we've already played many online games with this map, all of them have worked perfectly (with the odd person having some trouble knocking down the two fusion coils) We found that players naturally make it even more interesting too, such as letting out there friend while they are in the octagon, and then letting out one person at a time and double teaming them, some peolpe will let out everybody at the same time. you can play this with like 10 people, but then the honour rule will be in play, because people may have to share a holding cell without killing eachother.
i think this map would be fantastic for overall playability and it gives me this fealing of like a gladiator movie or sumthin
I really think this should belong in the Casual section. Competitive maps include more gametypes rather than just swords. Although the map is very simple, it has a unique style of play. I really like how you ca choose your opponent, no honor rules. Really nice.
