I find it's best not to think too deeply about forge. Don't worry, I've gotten existential about spending hours playing with virtual lego too
Yeah, wanted to say before, but this looks nothing like Greek. It isn't Greek only because there is the sea and there are ruins. The architecture is completely different. This is Greek
Bullshit Greek yogurt is nasty --- Double Post Merged, Dec 12, 2016 --- If I forge anything new in Halo 5, it's gonna be a 2v2. So much more fun than 4v4 both to build/design and play.
View attachment 44148 View attachment 44149 It may not be Greek persay but it's def not a traditional sanghelios environment, which is fine, its still looks amazing. If you can make a desert skybox for it and get rid of the tidal grass it would be an instant improvement for me. As you can see, sanghelios is a very DRY planet and the vegetation that is on it clings to any water source it can, be it streams or waterfalls. You can clearly see lush jungle areas all around your map and lots and lots of tropical water which does not scream sanghelios to me and leaves me instantly disconnected from the theme your attempting. That's why I said my map is the most sanghelios feeling map I've seen yet, but I'm sure it won't be for long.
A reasonable and well thought out post. Thanks! I'll bear that in mind when I come to do something a bit more "Sangeheli".
Sangheilios isn't a DRY planet. Did you forget that there's a ****ing ocean on it? That one of the cities on the planet is literally sitting in the middle of the ocean? Come on dude, the ecology of the planet is a bit more diverse than the arid dry areas we saw in the campaign. --- Double Post Merged, Dec 12, 2016 --- Topology: A harsh planet, Sanghelios is located on the innermost edge of the Urs system's habitable zone,[30] allowing for a wide variation in vegetation and temperature on the planet.[9] With a diameter of 15,038 kilometres (9,344 mi),[1] Sanghelios has a gravity of 1.375 Gs and an average surface temperature of -5°C to 96°C (23°F to 204.8°F). The planet has a diameter of 15,038 kilometers, making it larger than Earth. The land masses and continents are more scattered in relation to bodies of water.[3] Sanghelios' sky varies in hue from a bright yellow to a blood red, due to large amounts of suspended particles in the upper atmosphere, but can also be blue. The planet's harsh and capricious environment is caused by Sanghelios' three suns, Urs, Fied, and Joori.[9] Like Earth, its atmosphere consists of oxygen, argon, and nitrogen, but also has a reddish hue to it. Water on the planet can have various hues which include blood red, orange, yellow, cyan, blue and even purple or magenta.[31] The surface of the planet is mostly composed of water, though Sanghelios has five individual continents: Kaepra, Qivro, Tolvuus, Vaardma, and Yermo.[1]. Large desert regions stretch across the interior portions of the planet's continents, forcing the significant portion of Sanghelios' population to live on the coasts and islands. These locations are usually encircled by steep mountain ranges or rocky tombolo drifts, which provide much needed protection during the planet's harrowing rain season.[1] Many Forerunner artifacts and structures exist on the planet, which are the topic of worship, as well as the cause of historical wars between the Sangheili and the San'Shyuum before the formation of the Covenant.[3] The large size of Sanghelios' two natural satellites—Qikost and Suban—has great effects on the planet's tides.[32]Frigid winds from the south pole of Sanghelios were spread across the southern regions of the planet.[33]
The majority of the planet is certainly arid desert or oceanic, but I believe its safe to assume it has other biomes.
