place a light, delete a light, place a light, keep that light, place a light, delete previous light, place another light, delete map, start new map
Everyone gets inspired by concept art and goes to forge and then realizes you can't make your map look anything like that lol
Well of course I can't recreate this. Its just a concept and I'd rather have a concept that pushes my limits than some boxed up military base. Get ready for some tree inspired fps So long Spellbound. You had a great run P.S. Goat don't act like you don't love the concept art I dig up
This type of Paintball arena, using my patent pending bullet drop technology. Spoiler Im also working on a linear infection map, to be tested with Thursday and Friday in respective lobbies. Based on the blue team intro in the campaign mission "Blue Team", this lin infection map follows Fireteam Blue, as they were sent to investigate Argent Moon. A facility that went dark a week before. They arrive only to realize the reason behind the station's demise.
I've been working on this for the last week or so. It's up for adoption if anyone want to do art on it. Edit: Forgot to leave a download link. Here it is - https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/..._a Chunk_be20ddc8-a3cb-4a5d-9e9a-005593f38687
Aqueduct inspired? I was thinking that it was about halfway through the video and then I saw the sniper spawn and was almost sure of it. ps the sniper seems wonky to grab. The concept of jumping out there then back in just kind of breaks the flow, maybe you could make it a smoother maneuver somehow? Longshot did the same thing on his map Purirication and i didn't necessarily like I then either. That said, he intended it to be that way so I guess it's in the eye of the beholder! Super small thing though, looks great otherwise. Love the jumps and lines of sight
It's not inspired by anything honestly, but now that you mention it I can see the similarities. I'm not really attached to keeping sniper on a floating block. I actually almost just extended the platform and made it solid. If I was getting ready to release it soon, I'd probably just do that. I like the idea behind requiring players to jump to a floating block, but it doesn't really feel natural for a variety of reasons. If it were to stay as a floating block, it would need to be a more natural jumping distance (right now it feels like a partial jump, if that makes sense), and it would need to open up an additional movement option (it kind of does with the jump I showed going to speed boost, but that doesn't feel natural either). Also, it would need to feel like the floating block is still part of the map (right now if feels like you're jumping outside of the map, and just seems too disconnected).
I think you should forge it with a Halo 3 Epitaph type aesthetic, with pillars and nice windows looking out towards a barren atmosphere.
For the older guys here, prepare yourselves for some nostalgia to be dropped soon... just putting the finishing touches on this baby before release.
