So I've just started an ambitious plan. Forging the bridge in my hometown that I've crossed thousands of times; Arnhem. Operation Market Garden was 72 years ago on september 17. The bridge that came to known as "a bridge too far". I don't want to turn this into a history lesson but I deeply care about the allied forces that waged their lives on the grounds I was born on. The second world war is all around us here in The Netherlands with memorials, bunkers, museums, war cemetary's and stuff like that especially in this region. I recently went to the (google it) American war cemetary at Margraten and that place brings things in my throat I can't swallow. Enough talk, I better start building. I have 2 days lol
Make sure that you have enabled the setting in the Windows 10 settings app to allow the game to run in the background. To see which apps have permission to run in the background, open the Startmenu or Start screen and select “Settings.” Click or tap the “Privacy” icon in the Settings window. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select “Background apps. Make sure that Halo 5 forge is turned on. Hope that helps!
Decided to remake Last Resort again since I'm forbidding myself from remaking Scavenger any further. Anyone have any recommendations for SOMEWHAT SUBTLE changes that could help improve the map for Halo 5? I've already gotten several people suggesting I connect the Beach Wall with Camp Froman. Will most likely be Strongholds/slayer, until the modded 1-flag game types start rolling out.
Ah, hmm. Then I guess something else is causing it for you. Some people have had the game close and leave on them because of the setting being turned off. Hopefully it gets patched soon.
Since 1 sided OBJ isn't a thing (officially) in H5 I'd recommend trying to make the beach less distinct from the rest of the map, and make it more desirable to travel to. Shrink it a bit, knock some more holes in the sea wall so spawners on one side aren't totally cut off from the rest of the map, add some dunes, flesh out vehicle routes, emphasise the map's various asymmetries. That sort of thing. EDIT: Or cut the beach as playable space entirely and just expand the facility. Push the sea wall out and increase the footprint of the industrial zone. There's a bunch of stuff you could do, but making the map more rotation friendly than it is as a one-sided map designed around attackers and defenders surging in waves to and from desirable positions as they each try to make enough ground up to win a round.
--- Double Post Merged, Sep 15, 2016 --- I'll likely do what Wyvern did and have a more authentic version and then a more Halo 5 friendly version
Well if DayZ maps are now trending I'll just go ahead and delete my mini-Cherno layout. EDIT: You know what? **** it! I'm gonna out wasteland aesthetic your ass
Yea or Nay on weapon pads in infection? If you use the REQ glitch to combine the Loathsome Thing with the Shotgun, it basically turns it into the Halo 2 shotgun (more capacity and higher ROF), and I think it would be cool to have on a map.
ALRIGHT LADS POLL TIME Which looks better?? Spoiler: Option 1 - Cloudy Option 1- Spoiler: Option 2 - Paradise Option 2- I think I'm leaning more towards paradise but idk. I'll make version 2 of the WIP thread tomorrow afternoon with a finalized skybox
The skybox for paradise looks really nice but the lighting for cloudy looks better on your structures
