From your first image of the blockout i thought you were going for a reflection/ivory tower theme! Looked like it would fit the map pretty well, but just my opinion
That could be really easy to do at this point. I'll keep messing with the look. Plants in space don't really make sense anyway .
I currently have several projects in mind yet haven't started on them as I'm still working out the kinks with two others. They are: A wave holdout map using infection and set in WWII. An objective mode where one team plays FBI agents trying to storm a house and secure an asset. The asset being Hillary Clinton's Email Server, and it's guarded by Secret Service Agents.
1. Watermark the prefab with a forger's branding so that using it will give the original forger credit. 2. Provide an option to prevent any prefab from being used in anyone else's map (private use only). 3. Lock the prefab so that it can never be disassembled into pieces. 4. Maybe a global registry so that counterfeits are identified and destroyed. --- Double Post Merged, Sep 13, 2016 --- Warm only looks good on Alpine Gold only looks good on Tidal Enhanced only looks good on Alpine or Parallax I think to make those kinds of conclusions takes artistic skill and you clearly have a strong opinion on it.
Yes I realize that. But you are cutting edge anyways, I expect that from you. Most people wouldn't be able to really form a strong opinion about cohesive ambient art. They might realize something doesn't look good. But that is about it.
Well yea, I am an artist. A very lazy one but one nonetheless. As far as art goes I know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, when it comes to level design, **** if I know what I'm doing.
I think making them private use, watermarking and all that would be counter productive. The point of prefabs is for people to use them and generally better the community not to gain popularity.
This. Plus if I saw a prefab I liked couldn't I just drop it, discet it, recreate it myself and save it as my own? I love how open and public the prefab system is.
Man some of you guys are absolutely killing it in forge game right now. A lot of cool maps have been released lately and some cool pictures have been posted the past few weeks.
^ There is literally no way to have a prefab system retain ownership of the original prefab when it is placed on someone's map, and even if there was, you could still drop it on the map and recreate it and then suddenly it would be yours. Obviously prefabbing entire maps and taking credit for them is a **** move and you can do what you can to point it out where necessary, but consider that the entire game is public domain in the long run. Without the prefab system, we wouldn't get brilliant works of art like this
haha that's so funny. How does that work? Four teams? Not only are you playing to beat your team, but you're playing to beat your team before the other two teams decide a winner between themselves? haha.
