This is a quick blockout of a small, open 2v2 map i started earlier this weekend. In the actual map there is a ceiling over half the map which is currently causing me a lot of lighting troubles. It is not playable yet as since it has gone from sketch to blockout I am seeing some potential issues I will need to address. Planned gametypes: Oddball, Slayer If you have any thoughts or concerns based on the pictures I would love to hear them. If you would like to walk around it in forge the most up to date file is currently titled: PBG GT: xXxMENTALxXx Map Link: http://tinyurl.com/hggc932 UPDATE: Added new screenshots with some slight coloration to the map. There are also two new routes added to try to help player options and flanking to a couple of areas. I'm a little stuck on where to put player spawns compared to where i had originally planned since a few things changed from the first plan.
Sorry, that was vague, I mean like there's so many 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 slayer maps and although it has seamed to have taken over from assassinations, there's still a butt load of it. I know it's popular but It'll just be drowned under the tens of other slayer maps that come out this week. I'm not cussing out your map cos you've clearly put a lot of time and effort into it, I'm just suggesting some originality and creativity too.
I'd argue there are just as many minigames being released, and without an idea for a worthwhile "new" game it would just be iterating/copying existing things. I'm not extremely experienced with creating 2v2 maps so this is me trying to be original and creative relative to what I am used to. Thanks though, I will definitely look at making different kinds of things in the future.
Sorry if I came across too harsh, but what I meant was there are loads of different ideas constantly coming with minigames, however maybe you could make the aesthetic something new and really interesting which would make up for it being a simple core map (not saying the design is simple btw) --- Double Post Merged, Sep 6, 2016 --- Also if you want aesthetic help, I'm all yours
Looks like a really nice start. There's a couple of things I'm having trouble grasping from the pictures, but overall, the layout looks good.
Reminds me a lot of UT design style. Can't really tell much from the pictures though. No..... Just no. Please.
