Okay, you've all got to me. Incoming WIP pics from a Co-Forge between me @Sn1p3r C and @Blaze . Prepare to have your minds blown out your azzholes by my design and ascetic prowess! I can't reveal much more than this because if did, Forgehubs population would drop to zero due to mass influzena from just how sick this arts gonna be!
Also, I'm not hating on you guys. You're great forgers & you obviously blow me out of the water, but I want results suckas!
From the creator of "Firelink" - remake of firelink shrine in dark souls (forge labs July contest top 3) comes "Ariamis" - remake of painted world of Ariamis in dark souls. This map is in very very early production Don't u think glacier terrain with tidal rocks looks awesome? Not sure if image works? It doesn't - image on next page.
I just saved the picture and attached it to the post is all. Though for all of my own stuff I use imgur.com like Nitro suggested.
So I'm currently working on a Crows Nest inspired map for H5. Just scrolling through google images looking at screenshots, hoping to get hyped and inspired... Turns out its having the exact opposite effect lol FML. For as amazing as H5 forge is, its crazy how detailed and beautiful the art from 2007 ,almost 10 years ago, still is. Kudos to bungie and the art team. I may be able to replicate some of the same moods and feels but don't except your minds to be blown, the level of detail is just not possible . Regardless, I'm gonna listen to some H3 OST and get the map pumped out by the end of the weekend. Expect screenshots by the end of labor day.
Dude it's already looking sweet and as long as you get the general shapes and atmosphere of each area down, it will be convincing. The beauty of Forge in my opinion is that we can't overdetail our maps, so we're more likely to do it tastefully. Whereas I look at a map like Riptide and I can't tell doors from walls because there is visual interest everywhere. Obviously for natural environments I'd like to have more objects at my disposal, but that doesn't mean I'd throw puddles and grass everywhere either. It'd just look messy. Granted, Bungie's art from 2007 was a lot more tastefully detailed as well, but you get what I'm saying.
