Hey dudes. So, I'm getting close to being ready to test Happy World. Unfortunately, the map seems to suffer from frame-rate issues in some areas. For the most part, the map is pretty smooth, but theres about three areas of bad frames: standing on the ferris wheel platform (although moving about 3 steps closer resolves it), inside the roller coaster cave, and the arcade/swing ride area. If anyone wants to take a look the file is HW3. I really would love to eliminate these issues, because I'm getting pretty excited about the map, but those areas are bumming me out. Any tips/suggestions?
Save an experimental version of your map before you adjust it. You might be able to do something with line of sight. Experiment with blocking out problem areas from view. If that doesn't work, consider removing high polygon objects and retesting the area. For my maps I had to remove a ton of trapezoids and replace small simple primitives with larger detailed ones. Optimization is the key. If you can do something in fewer but uglier pieces you will probably have to. I know what you had last I saw wasn't even decorated yet so you have my sympathy. Maybe you could spread out the high density areas instead? Edit: Also gigantic rocks can be a problem.
There are many maps struggling with performance issues. Even maps that didn't have the issue before have them now, I feel they have to update it. This is a quote from Psychoduck on Halocustoms: Also, you're not the only ones dealing with performance issues. The June update changed how far away and how detailed some objects are rendred, and that's caused issues for a lot of forgers. Hopefully this will be improved in a future update. I think a load of fixes are coming with forge releasing on PC, but likely a lot of bugs too. I'll check it out, but it will be a few days.
