Oh come on now Res, don't take it personal. ****, I came in here on my own accord and praised your remake, which I still think looks pretty damn impressive (for a remake). I'm not here to put people down, I don't have some mean hearted agenda or anything crazy like that. I'll give praise, and I'll tear people/maps down unapologetically too if I find reason. The big kicker, I don't hold anyone here ill will, but I'm not going to walk on ****ing egg shells to make sure I don't hurt anyone's feelings. Life's cruel. People are cruel. That's the nature of the world. Not intentionally cruel, but cruel all the same. Grow some thicker skin and move the **** on. If you can't manage that, you're gonna have a tough time with life.
I'm a sensitive person and I know it. I felt like I had to say something because I was pissed, so I did. I just want this community to be a better place, that's all. If I just shake it off like it isn't a big deal when it clearly is to me, then I'm not doing this place any favors in terms of what I'd like to see it become.
Just because you don't have control over your emotions doesn't mean that we should have to. This is a huge issue that we are dealing with as a society in general.

I agree, and my actions back that up. Did I ever attack Mynx? No, I just stated that remakes don't deserve attention, which I truly believe.
The timing of your opinion made it feel like an attack, so that's how I reacted. /shrug I wouldn't have come on so strong if you just posted this at a seemingly irrelevant time to me. Might I have said something? Possibly, but with the post you made, you might as well have tagged me or quoted me.

I unapologetically love remakes, especially the level of Mynx's. It takes effort, skill, and imagination to match or recreate an old look with forge limitations. And I support originality too. Haters gonna hate.
@Mynx I didn't realize you are Res. To be brutally honest to what you said about the time and effort you put into your maps, I feel the need to say: So, what? Everybody puts time and effort into all of their creations, and no one is above criticism. I'm glad you acknowledge that your inability to handle criticism is a weakness, because it is. But, it's not like it's something you can't learn to handle. Level design is art. Naturally, you will feel attached to your art, but that attatchment can impede your progress, if you are unwilling to acknowledge differing perspectives. I will say, I really liked the map you submitted to the 2v2 contest. It had a bit of identity crisis for player size, but the conceptual layout was solid.
Like I said, I don't have it in me to handle it. At least not right now, so I just don't/won't forge original maps. But what was being criticized here wasn't the contents of my maps, it was literally the maps I am making. I can't change that outside of not forging them at all, which was my issue to begin with. I only mentioned the time and effort portion because Xandrith was suggesting remakes are less in virtually every regard, which I felt the need to point out that they are equal in the effort department at the very least. I'm not foolish enough to believe I deserve equal attention for making remakes, let alone more attention than OG forgers receive, but it's not my fault that it happens. Anyways, this whole thing is moot if Xandrith wasn't attacking me. I responded the way I did because I felt attacked, and I was tired of feeling that way.
