well i'm travelling in a few days and my xbox live runs out in a few hours. my map is busted and i ain't got time to fix this ****. don't know why i listen to anybody. i was going at a perfectly fine pace working on the map and then people get tired of hearing me ***** about it and tell me to "just post it and then update it." well i did. and i have worked 3 times as hard on the map in the last week as i have in the last 3 weeks. i released it and suddenly every single flaw is twice as bright staring me in my face, but the map has ironically been dark as usain bolt the whole time. this is not how i do things, and for good reason. i'm a perfectionist. the minute i lower my standards and settle for mediocre is the minute i **** everything up. yea i dun goofed and saved over the main file. there's a back up but the whole reason i stopped releasing "versions" of my **** is so hundreds of people didn't end up with different files. it's sloppy presentation and at this point i'm embarrassed that i put out subpar work. so, that recall is happening. deleted. out of sight out of mind. rescrapped. whatever the **** you want to call it, i'm done.
Been working on a NASCAR-style short track that you can hopefully actually race on instead of just ride around with no challenge at all. It's going to be a bit longer, and look different than it is in this image but it's the only image I have of it so far.
i still love you multi, but you said something that made me realize that i made a mistake by not trusting my instincts. i have never been happy with the routes around the atrium on spellbound. they were functional, but they were not my vision, and like i said above, i settled. i'm not going to settle anymore. i'm a selfish artist. if i like it, i don't care if anyone else doesn't. conversely, if i don't like it, i don't care if everyone else does. my opinion is ultimately the only thing that matters, because i am the only one who appreciates the full extent of my vision. i will redesign it after i take a break. i don't care if everyone is tired of seeing it. i don't care if people doubt me. i don't care if nobody ends up wanting to play it. i am not going to work on anything else until i am happy with this map, because it's the only one that matters to me. and if i end up liking the next version and people prefer the old one, they can suck it.
i like a lot of **** you make but i can't stand that map, if not solely for the pick ups placed on it. suppressor, splinters and camo sniper is gaaaaaaay room based maps aren't my thing and the fact that i inadvertently made one is a mistake i hope to rectify next time.
I stand by that statement. Also no man's sky looks so awesome and so pointlessly boring at the same time
