Hey guys, I've been working with @PA1NTS for the past couple weeks to test the official BETA of the Last Stand gametype. To those of you unfamiliar with Last Stand, it's basically an Infection gametype where the Infected can jump but the humans cannot. It was originally made back in Halo 4 and was even added to Halo 4's Flood Matchmaking. Here's the old announcement video Anyway, it'd be nice if we got others to help test the gametype. Right now, we have 5 playable Last Stand maps. LS: Dubious Depths by its Bibz LS: Nuketown. Forged by rpgallagher. Modified for Last Stand by Zandril S312. LS: Nacht der Untoten. Forged by JoeAct20. Modified for Last Stand by Zandril S312. LS: Osmosis by HAL0 M4N LS: Hillside Resort by Shadowslayer EX The maps are best played with 12 people. Any more than that and the games would be very chaotic. These maps aren't in their final state and are still subject to change. Also, please keep in mind that LS: Nuketown and LS: Nacht der Untoten weren't built for Last Stand. They were made to be compatible with the gametype out of necessity. That's not to say that they're terrible, however. Holy hot damn shiggity. Nacht Der Untoten was the only map I wanted to make in H5 and it's already been done. So that's cool. If you ever get a lobby going testing these 3 beauties, shoot me an invite. I don't play a lot of H5 but am always down for nastolgia maps. GT: "Faulk Smash"
Sign me up!!! I'll be doing some custom games probably this weekend, so I may just do some tests of my own. And I'll bring in the feedback!
Edited it now but I forgot to mention that the maps above are best played with 12 people. Any more than that would make the games very chaotic.
UPDATE LS: Nacht der Untoten -Balcony has been made to be partially accessible to humans. -"Well" route for the Infected has been made more obvious and its transition to the inside of the building, smoother. -Void's Tear replaced with Railgun. -Both the 1st and 2nd floor have been buffed to make things a little easier for the survivors. LS: Nuketown -Added and moved the cover at the ground. -Frame drops have been reduced by removing the fog and deleting several terrain flats. -Railing added to the red truck. The gametype is also likely to get an update. I'm talking to PA1NTS regarding the number of Last Men Standing. It might go down from 3 to 2. LS: Dubious Depths is also getting updated soon and I might be adding another Last Stand map to the list.
UPDATE Last Stand 1.3 The gametype has been changed and there are now only 2 Last Men Standing instead of 3. The OP has been edited with the new link. Please bookmark this new one if you intend to help test the gametype because the 1.2 version was deleted and will no longer work
Out of curiosity (never really been an infection player) how is the gameplay affected from changing last men standing to 2?
For one thing, it makes it harder to survive if you're one of the last men. In the past games we played, we found that it was a little too frustrating to finish 3 off as an Infected. Since there's three of them, there's more entrances they can watch and it's harder for Infected to use any flanks especially if the holdout location where the 3 last men are only has three or less entrances. Add that to the Last Men having infinite ammo. Now that there's two, coordination and communication will play a bigger part for the last men and it will be less challenging for the Infected to kill them.

I'm planning on recording the existing Last Stand maps this weekend to make an announcement video. So if anyone has any Last Stand maps they're working on or know about, please tell me about it. I don't just yet but may eventually now that we're getting textures on structure pieces. Go for it Zanny, it's time for alternate Infection gametypes to get noticed! I'm hoping this and Linear can find it's way into public eye soon, especially since we have the customs browser coming which will make it easier to scrape a lobby together and test something
