Most of you guys have probably heard this song, but I wanted to share it anyways. It's how I feel about Halo. It used to be so much fun, and now I'm just stressed out every time I play.
Managed an overall update to all the Grifsketball maps. Tons of gameplay went into such simple changes, and I can't be more happy with them. Hope I can get a decent idea for a new map instead of just mending old creations. I've been updating everything, now I need to get on that ball, again.
I tested Missionary a bit yesterday. I think 2v2 is gonna be optimal but it plays 3's too. I feel really good about this design. I was 1v1ing with my kid and we didn't want to quit. I'm playing with the weapon setup currently. I have a Req Spartan Laser, req boltshot, req suppressor, and req light rifle. I'm looking forward to getting more games on this today after work.
Spoiler Post should be up tonight, just need to tie up a few loose ends. Link for those who want to test it (Please send me feedback if you do) PS: Can an admin change me from new member to King of the Fruits?
Big fan of this project so far, but I'm worried about spawns. This is 2v2 right? If two players are sitting up on the top mid area, you can really only spawn in the basement. The teleporter alleviates that somewhat, but I could see it getting pretty repetitive. Furthermore, I personally would have liked to see the height variation in the room pictured in the last screenshot pushed a bit more. Hoping to get some games on it this week to give you better feedback.
The map was designed for a 1v1, I've played a few 2v2's on this and it is quite hectic. As for spawns, I was just as worried as you were but there were hardly any bad spawns even for a 2v2. The thought behind the map was power weapons and power ups on a low ammo/quick timer setup would promote movement to the bottom. Chances are, if you are camping up top, the other team is going to have quite the arsenal on you. Otherwise, we would have to abandon the original layout and expand. Not saying that's a bad thing, this was a map to get me back into forging and we wanted to stay true to the original thus far. Now about height variation in the upper part of the map, I'll see what we can do when Phuria gets on tonight.
Word I initially thought it was for 1v1s from the screenshots, but when I got on it looked like it could play 2s. I dig the rotational flow as well, fits with the theme.
I've been working on a racetrack lately entitled "Isle of Vulcan"...and at the same time hoping 343 puts race into H5 eventually. Essentially it is a Grand Prix style circuit placed on this partially under-construction paradise island, with a full pit lane, manual start system, a big volcano, etc...note that some of the images in this album are a bit outdated, for example the lava on the volcano looks better now, some turns have had walls moved a bit to make them more forgiving, more updated aesthetics and scenery, etc. Currently I have "Version 2" on my bookmarks if anyone wants to look, just know you'll be spawning in pit lane and you will drive much slower through it after you drive out of your pit stall, just like on a real pit lane . Sweeeet. What is the conversion scaling values from the older games to UT44/UED4? UED 1 to UED 3 was an upscale of 1.41 units. IE: a 256 x 128 x 1024 hall in UED1 was 361 x 180.5 x 1443.9 in UED3.
Poor a liter of gasoline down my throat and then shove a match up my ass someone kill this kid How have people like this managed to not choke on their own saliva. **** this games fan base.
He has a point. Halo 4’s Infinity gamemodes sucked, so people write off the entire game as bad, instead of acknowledging the game’s amazing campaign and more advanced Forge (despite missing features, it was far ahead of Reach). And seriously, how did they pull those graphics out of a 360? Halo 4 was not a bad game.
I thought the campaign was awful. The ui was awful. The theatre was awful. The soundtrack was awful. The graphics were "high res" but de-rendered at 30 feet into play doh. The forge was a step up I'd agree. It's a better game than Halo 5 I think. Still awful though.
OMG, I died. First, I saw "Halo 4 - the most underrated Halo game" and I think "oh, HELL no". Then I see that Multi is posting, and I think "This is gonna be good". Then I get to the match up my ass part, and I lose it The Forge was more powerful, but EVERYTHING ELSE besides some good levels in the campaign, was ASS. I remember getting into matchmaking the first time and it was the same as my reaction to Windows 8: "Whatthefuckisthis?!?" Forge was forever marred by the unbelievably fugly, and I mean FUGLY forge pieces that at least were elegant if unrelentingly gray in Halo Reach. I had some success with one of the few things that worked, and would like back: Trait zones. I created some square and round nested trait zones and made 3 or 4 Fight Club arenas. I hosted a lot of Fight Club custom games and they were hecka fun, along with downloading that infinite figure 8 looped track and running customs on the dueling Warthogs and Mongeese...But it was the beginning of having to jury rig EVERYTHING to make a Grifball map, and I gave up my dystopian killball dreams...screw you Halo 4
Please, read this. This is the post that gave me a new appreciation for the Halo 4 Campaign. This same person actually did a full level-by-level analysis. If you have the time, read through few. https://haruspis.wordpress.com
