All primitives can be textured, I'm guessing Aschur is saying he has non-primitive pieces mixed in that can't be textured and the mix of texture and non-texture looks BAD
This. Basically I have a bunch of primitives that make up like 90% of the map and my doorways and some pillars are unable to be textured which looks bad to the Nth degree. Map doesnt look bad with the new metal default, but it would look worlds better with a weathered stone texture (closest we have is concrete, maybe marble)

Hopefully they'll have a full set of simple primitive blocks down the line. They're fairly limited at the moment.
Two major gripes with the textures. 1. They did away with the original textures. Terrible idea. Make metal the 2nd option and keep the original textures as default. 2. The repetion of the textures is EXTREMLY noticeable and looks horrible on larger pieces. (Not including the wood, as wood planking is naturally repetitve) This was a non issue in the past, so a scaleable texture option would be highly appreciated. Besides that, they are the dopest yo
I highly agree, the simplest solution for them would be to swap the texturing scaling option from the grime and frost to the materials instead. The frost and grime should be the same consistent size and the texture behind it scaling should change.
The overlay also needs an opacity setting so we can make the overlays more subtle if we want. So I went back into my old maps, and they removed the light bake option on the Hill/Bowl terrain piece, so now big chunks of my terrain in shadow look like they're made of glass and don't match the rest of the terrain at all. Also, now there's a bunch MORE blocks that are randomly turning black (I thought they fixed that?) and they INCREASED the contrast of the lighting, so now lit areas are WAY too bright and the dark areas are even darker. Wtf? We needed less contrast, not more. It makes it really hard to continue caring about this forge when they keep dicking it up every month and we have to go back and fix already completed maps.
cobblestone texture is too small. dont like that textures make colors darker. those are my main gripes
Yea its pretty shitty not gonna lie, like the covenant texture is probably the darkest even at a matte level of 1 lol
Yeah, Ive slowly been replacing all of the blocks I can with Simples. They blend into each other nicely too.
Updated Proteus with the new textures. Trying to achieve a neo-Greek sorta look or some crap. Lemme know if it a) looks good or b) looks like ****
