Scripting is well done, a computer can only do what you tell it to, and you have to be specific enough to get scripting to work for you.
Ok, here goes: 343 should have an all weekend, Come to Jesus meeting with Forgehub, and then Teambeyond. Also, bring back some community forgers for TWO weeks, and a good mix of Teambeyond members/critics for TWO weeks on the gaming side, up to 343 headquarters. Take all that feedback and RUN with it! Could end up with the most amazing Halo game! At the very least, it would be an epic turn around for developer/community relations.
The BR is an overused overpowered weapon that needs a nerf so its not a utility weapon with no downsides
Muhammed has been going to the mountain. They brought the mountain to Muhammed once, and look at the incredible results. Bring it over once more...
Well, it would either help, or go nowhere. Couldn't hurt. I personally am pleased with the forge team, urp, 3 man band, and they took the time to listen, and produce what the forge community needs and wants...its a bit of a shocker. It didn't happen overnight, but...it is happening. The concept of bringing in community experts, as well as vocal critics right into the process at its source, would at the LEAST be a PR 180 from the perception of the lack of communication. I may be a bit pollyanna on this, but I feel like its a tactic that would have at the least, some interesting results. Doju, what is your take on the result of Nokyard et al going to 343 headquarters for that week?
They smile for the camera and say Forge is great. My issue with your idea is that 343s main reason for their choices is a lack of feedback from the community. They have that, and have had it for years, but have chosen a different direction to what many would like. Plus they have already made community hires anyways Yes, its great for PR, but if you are accepting its a PR move, then that kinda defeats the point of them being there in the first place. I'l entertain the idea then for discussion sake, who decides who goes from FH/TB, and who do you think should go?
The better forge gets, the more I hate Halo 5. On one hand you have the awesome forge, and on the other you have the worst console experience of all time.
Not that they have had a lack of feedback, but that it was a great bold move to bring players TO THEM, and have face to face two way feedback. I would hope the big boost of respect and cooperation I personally percieved with the Forge team and the forging community could be fostered on the gaming/multiplayer/customs side. Who would go? I am not super sure, as some behind the scenes vetting would have to be done so no unstable cranks get access to corporate offices (and certainly not me, as I've promised to bite all their ankles as soon as I get them cornered, ahem ). So now we are told the Cartographers did NOTHING while they were there but smile and wave? I hallucinated the maps I played on that they worked on, or that I participated on Twitch with feedback to Nokyard while he was revamping Deadlock? At the very least, wasn't there a mention that Forge got delayed because features that would have to be cut were argued too important and wished for, so they decided to delay the release until Forge was finished? Or is everything I was told a big fat hairy lie.... THAT would be an even sorrier scandal then some random map from one player on a community driven contest. What am I even typing about, how did I make my way back to this site if the above changes never happened?
If they wanted real feedback, they would have had them in a year earlier to set out a clear vision, and not a month before launch. Them creating btb maps kinda hides the fact 343 chose to leave out btb, and still have.
I am still disappointed how BTB has been treated. To me the real core gameplay of Halo was interesting vehicle combat along with some nice infantry skirmishes.
lol, heres the problem with vegans, they are still eating living things, "but they aren't intelligent" so your saying its ok to eat living things are long as they are retarded. Time for my unpopular opinion: All humans/things are just really complex sets/patterns of chemicals/elements, that found a way to work together through evolution. Yes I know I'm here to discuss halo 5, but I had to get my opinion out there sometime
Yes, true, they should have done all this much sooner. Haven't some key people left 343 recently? Are they not suffering right now from bad decisions and a lack of listening to the long time customers who may know a thing or two? They should have, they should have...but they didn't. So what NOW? What if the people who left were instumental in making bad decisions or blocking good decisions for the current gameplay we have in Halo 5. Like Xandrith said above, wevhavecthe best Forge, but the worst EXPERIENCE. Unless there is some secret time machine where 3 years ago the development of the Halo game and franchise could be drastically altered, why not try my idea going forward? Don't just do something, STAND THERE.
~GAMING SIDE~ 1) Fix the aiming OMG!!111!!!PONIES11!!! (No, REALLY... ) 2) Reach style gametype and map browser in game and on Waypoint. 3) CUSTOM GAME BROWSER. 4) Even though I am not personally affected, bring back racing game options and playable Elites...11k posts later, don't they have a CLUE that gamers kind of want to pay to play as a Sangheli warrior? At least in customs? And quit shafting entire communites. 5) Speaking of shafting communities, how about dedicating / hiring one or two more employees so that the game breaking crap the Grifball gametypes are going through doesn't, you know, cancel playoffs. Now they have to take it out of multiplayer and fix it, sad... 6) Speaking of Grifball, dammit turn down or off the banhammer, what the unholy actual ****!? I've played since Halo 3, and never, NEVER got kicked and then BANNED for 9.whatever minutes because of accidental hammering a teammate who jumps into my swing until last weekend. And I was being extra careful. Just complete lack of understanding how that gametype works. 6) Ok, bring in AkaDemiK87, MultiLockOn, CursedLemon, and a few others and they would say what I cannot articulate would be great to be a fly on the wall for those 3 alone You would get a set on the plane if you want Doju, get-em tiger! ~FORGE SIDE~ 1) Moar textures, textures ROCK! 2) Two-way energy shields like the ones in Halo 3 and H2A, unless I'm missing something. 3) An image preview for every placeable block, item, toy, primitive, etc. Or at least a way to view a list with pictures on Waypoint.I get lost either looking for what I want, or sifting through the iterations to figure out what would work. It would help me and my process tremendously. 4) Hey, remember the cool smoked glass, breakable hard light glass, and that big flat grass grid in Halo 2 Anniversary forge? Can we have them back? 5) Curved and spiral staircases, walls and spiral primitives. 6) Solid and hollow spheres. 7) Still waiting on being able to create, use, download and share prefabs. 8) If I know the coordinates where it should go, can I pop in the item, and then enter the numbers instead of having to slide in via the thumbsticks? Just a thought. 9) Placeable standing to-scale Spartan statutes, so I can judge how big my map is, and scale down accordingly. They can be just a tool visible in and out of monitor mode in forge. Currently initial spawns dissappear when you go to Spartan mode in forge, so I miss them being always visible. My brain just broke...and I got tired of typing (shocker!) Back at ya, what do you want fixed?
