Xandrith submitted a new map: Seatown - Seagulls! Read more about this map... --- Double Post Merged, May 3, 2016 --- I'll be posting a walk through later on
One does not simply name a map Seatown without putting a giant death well in the middle of it. 4/10 not enough metal Seriously though, this looks pretty sweet and I'm diggin' the clean & simple look.
The 1v1 battles against Multi on here were distracting me from the map but I thought the layout was really solid. If I get a chance to play this again, I'll make sure to concentrate more. Multi must not win Trolling aside, when I played this as 'Marina' a while back what changed since then? From the pictures, it looks like its been reduced in scale which is a good thing.
It's been slightly reduced in scale, and the map is stretched vertically, and obvious aesthetic detail has been added. Also, one side of the map has been completely redesigned. This map has come a long way from marina, hope you like it
Seatown must be where seamen live so Xandrith is now the biggest producer of seamen on forgehub! I don't know jack about judging maps, but my two favorite things about this are the details outside the playing area and that it's made for oddball. There's also something about how there's cover on the low levels but it's open up higher. Seems like there's some kind of well done balance between high and low ground, but I don't really know what the hell I'm saying. In any case, I want to ground pound with the oddball in hand from up high even though I wouldn't make it all the way down. Not with all those BRs.
I am glad you redesigned the rocket side of the map. I didnt like it all that much before. I for sure want to get some games on this. I havent played the newer version so it should be fun for sure
Looks very clean. My only issue is that the jump you made at 2:30 in the video didn't seem very obvious until you made it. I would either slightly extend that platform or make some sort of marker for it. Not exactly sure what to put there. Just a thought.
I like stuff in maps that aren't obvious to empower players with map knowledge. The whole Ideology of having every route and sight line obvious in the first play test makes maps boring for me.
He's messing with you sweety pie. This is Chubhub after all Map looks really clean and well designed. The pathing is really interesting. Look forward to seeing how it plays.
