It is meant to be a true remake, and it's about as close to exact as it can be. Also, I'd have to sacrifice the accuracy of the geometry if I wanted to improve spawning because I've hit the object limit. I wish objects that don't render like spawns didn't count towards the object limit.
Read the description. SAW replaces the flamethrower. Think I'll swap them for SMGs in the next update though.
Posted this on your other remake, the same goes for this one. Gave this map a look today. I remade Sidewinder and was looking around for more remakes. This one is fantastic. Scary accurate. I'm going to try and get a game going in the next week or so including my map, this game and your other map. Going to have some Halo 1 good times. Great job! Only complaint about this one was that my favorite hiding spots to the sides of the base tunnel dont exist anymore.

Some things to note about the update... The original map is still available in my file share here if you would prefer to use it instead. The updated version of the map has some framerate issues in certain spots because the game struggles to render more than 1024 objects at once. If this doesn't get fixed by 343, I'll provide a separate version of the map without as much detail. I anticipate that the issue will resolve itself when the game is run on better hardware in the future. (Forge for Windows and Project Scorpio) The updated version is also very dark. I constructed the map based upon the original position of the sun on the original. Unfortunately the shadows cast by the cliff walls are a bit too much. Sadly, unless 343 adds back that shadow clamp feature they initial planned to ship with Forge, I can't do anything to fix it.
