White Cell is a rework of a map I made back in H2A called Magnetic. I elaborated on the layout a bit and I think the map is going to work really well for 4v4. I'm going to try and get into some testing lobbies this week to test it, but for now if anyone wants to try it out, its set up for Slayer, Strongholds, and CTF. Weapons: Plasma Caster 120s 1clip, Scattershot 90s 1clip, Needler 90s 1clip, SMG, Storm Rifle, Battle Rifle x2, Light Rifle Powerups: Speed Boost 90s Here's what it looks like so far. That's actually asteroid terrain, but yeah, it looks a tad off I guess. Ill probably switch it to Alpine flats and possibly add some ivy around the edges like I did on the other planters.
Putting the largest grass piece around the base of trees conceals the spot where the trunk meets the ground pretty well. Since you have a bunch of pieces you could use multiple grasses and maybe a little cylinder raised slightly above the terrain to contain the grass. I actually just tried using a black pallet for that and it looks pretty landscapey. That might make the asteroid terrain work. You have another really cool looking map here Chron, good job. The bow sculpture is strikingly cool and I like the name.
Had lots of fun testing this today! It was easy to pick up and get right into the action, however once the game went on I was yearning for a little more cover. If you added any at all it should be in the scattershot room, it just seemed too easy to flank from the ramps on either side and had a lot of "getting shot in the back" going on. I liked the use of the speed boost, it really shined with the way your hallways are set up. Sizing felt fine, if I had to say something about it I might make the outside area with the BAMF bow a little smaller, or perhaps angling it a bit differently would do the same thing. Spawning could use a little work, I found myself spawning in the crouch-window room about 50 percent of the time. You'll also want some spawn volumes for objective, I can't quite give accurate feedback on how it played :/ As is with no changes, it's still a solid map, and I'd like to see where your arrow points you
I had a lot of fun on this map. My only recommendation would be to remove the obnoxious Halo 2 BR and replace it with a H5 BR.
I made this change this morning. Good Call. I also took a walk on the map with Demption yesterday and implemented his weapon placement and powerup suggestions. The Caster has been switched to Fuel Rod and now spawns in the basement where Scattershot was. Scattershot now spawns edge of the upper courtyard and the Needler spawns in the center room in the Upper Ring. Speed Boost has been removed and replaced with Active Camo and is now sitting on the ledge below the Bow and Arrow sculpture. I also added some aesthetics/structural cover and raised up the planter in the center of the upper courtyard to spartan head height.
