For the last several weeks, I have constructed my first Grifball map. It is directly inspired by Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The Imperial Landing Pad on the forest moon of Endor is what I have built. I don't know how to add certain details, and if my map is the right size for grifball play, but Id LOVE for guidance on making this map playable in Halo 5 multiplayer.
If anyone here is willing to help me finalize and playtest the map, then find a way for 343 to add it into the game, I would greatly appreciate it!!

This was posted a while back, but I didn't have any pictures to show my progress. Now I have.
Directly inspired by Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, I've built the Imperial landing pad Darth Vader lands on at Endor to pick up Luke. While not perfectly replicated, I think it will be quite enjoyable to play Grifball on once its polished up. Also, I credit Best of Best 47 for some help.

The lightsabers weren't originally going to be in this. I wanted to make a miniature Imperial Shuttle, like Vaders, but I couldn't figure out how to make it. I came up with this idea instead, and I actually like it better than the other idea. Just for aesthetic looks. The green is Luke's saber, of course, while red is Vaders. Not exact representations...just the colors I wanted to add. I think making the lightsabers exactly how the movies portrayed them is a bit of a waste of time.

One of the spawn areas: an Imperial Star Destroyer. Its not finished, and I need help with certain pieces of it.

The other spawn area. I feel this is all my version of the Millenium Falcon should be like, but if I need to add more small details I can. I would need help with that...I felt like adding too much more wouldn't be worth it, as you don't interact with it during matches.

The barriers that surround the map. I had glass panels there originally, then I found these. I believe they are required, anyhow. I just don't know if I should keep the glass panels. Might need help making sure these are the correct barriers to use.

View of the play area from the Falcon spawn (blue side...the Star Destroyer is the Red spawn).

[I couldn't figure out how to make the pictures visible, so they are links this time.]

Lastly, I think I made the platform itself a little too big. After that is looked at, and some extra spit and polish, I need help making sure the spawns line up straight across the maps and that they work properly. Thanks for checking this out! I'd love to have this map working well enough to be added into the Grifball rotation in Halo 5.

I like the idea, but execution is a bit... bland. I'll offer a few suggestions:

I'm using this image and others like it as reference:

    1. Use the night-time (or sunset or whatever is darkest) for a better aesthetic touch.
    2. Ditch the Falcon/SD and go for something more fun. Maybe one team launches from an Ewok village platform, the other from the top of an AT-AT.
    3. Lower the platform and put some hills around it, so that the trees are higher and more visible. Also, more trees.
    4. If this doesn't follow Nokyard's guidelines for grifball courts (which by the screenshots I'm guessing it doesn't, which is fine), bring in the boundaries a bit and add some accents around the perimeter. Some small cargo containers and electronic parts, cables, railings, etc. This will not only liven up the canvas, but give players a better sense of where the boundaries are. You can see above that there is a lot you can do to liven up the platform so that it isn't just a flat, monotoned floor.
    5. Add four tall lights to the corners of the platform with cone effects, and some beacons around the outer edge.

    Thanks for the feedback :)
    1) I tried to find a darker shade for the sky, but I dont think I liked what was offered. Ill try it again. The only issue I might come across is my lightsabers might not show up very well in the darker sky.
2)But...but like my Falcon/SD. :p I thought it was a great idea. I can toy with the Ewok/AT-AT idea, but I really like my own. Is the Falcon/SD not "fun" to you? I wanted to build an AT AT originally, but I didnt think I could figure it out.
3)I raised it since I thought it was too low. What makes you think its too high? The hills are a good idea. But there arent any hills directly surrounding it in the movie. Unless I miss something while watch it. I can definitely add more trees.
4)I don't know what the guidlines for grifball courts are lol. I wanted someone from this website to see if I got them right. I am pretty sure I made the play area too long and slightly too wide, so I can move the barriers a bit inside the parimeter. Also, in the movie there arent any visible objects on the platform when Vader lands...?
    5) I can add the lights and cones. Good Idea.

As I do this, I still need someone to help me make sure my spawns work properly and that they line up across the map.

I neglected to work much on my map till last night, because...well reasons lol.
Here are new screenshots of the newest iteration of my map. I changed some stuff and added new objects based on feedback I received last time I posted. By the way, I don't know now to make pictures appear on my posts, so Ill have the links here instead.

What I need help on is polishing the map up and testing everything necessary to make this map work. Since I have never had this much work done on a map I've made, I don't know if there is a certain way you guys go about doing that, or if I have to wait for 343s next community map spotlight.

I changed the spawning to Breakout launching pads, added more trees, made the playing field more hexagonal, and added other small bits you will pick up. I was told to get rid of my spawning areas (the Falcon and the Star Destroyer), but I don't want to: I love what they are. They just might need improvement.
