    FORGE BUG REPORT THREAD

    I'm sure you are all loving the new tool set but if you happen to stumble across bugs or have complaint issues please post them here. Remember to be respectful when posting your comments, the team at 343 that will be addressing your concerns in future updates. Lets help them help us;)

    WHAT MAKES 343 LIFE'S EASIER FOR BUG REPORTS:
    - Take screenshots of what you are referring to when you can
    - Submit video links / DVR as much as possible so they can confirm bugs faster.

    Note to all:
    Do not delete the initial spawn points on your canvas. Set them aside or move them when you are ready. 343 is aware of issues that occur when these spawn points are deleted. They will resolve this in the future, in the meantime just keep them on your map.

      Same here. I even tried the old bring someone into your map trick... No luck. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

      my lighting is at 50ish% and it takes 5 min to generate even longer to start in customs.

      Sometimes my game crashes if I try to group objects. This has happened on Alpine and Plaza.

      Description: Adjusting the values under the pan category causes the selection to jump down two lines.
      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Load a blank map.
      2. Place a camera.
      3. Switch the Scene from 'Static' to 'Intro'.
      4. Switch the Pan to 'Straight Line' and try to increase any of the forward, horizontal, or vertical options.
      5. The selection will jump down two lines every time you try to alter the values.

      Hey Warholic and community! I've been having some forging issues lately and figured I'd post them here. Hopefully someone can help.

      - the welding glitch isn't working anymore for some reason! Haha I know it's a glitch to begin with, but I had hoped to make MORE advanced pod racing maps and space battles but now everytime I weld objects to vehicles the vehicle explodes at the beginning of the match. A very cool scene to behold, but when I want a functioning map it doesn't work. :( That's my official whine for the day.
      - a real glitch issue deals with a map I was halfway through making. It was fine until after the last meridian update, where now whenever I open the map, I'm frozen in monitor mode looking at space and can't move. Before anyone asks, I didn't delete any spawns. I simply moved them away from the middle so I could build. For about 2 weeks everything worked dandy until now. Not sure what's wrong. If anyone could help me recover the map I'd be so appreciative! It's in my fileshare titled: "ST."

      That's all for now. Overall I love forging. It's fricken amazing. Cheers!

      Oh god I'm not the only one then! I Have the same issue, wtf! Tried adding a friend into the game and it still didn't work...

      I had my game "crash" upon welding multiple objects together. I say "crash" because the screen was frozen while still being audible.

      I built one side of my map, grouped the base together ( about 20 objects) upon grouping, it crashed.

      I had to shut off the system and restart my map as all save files for it were gone.

      I also have my game crash frequently when I simply group several objects together and then move them around. Happens about 1 out of 10 grouping attempts in a forge session. Seems like the system doesn't like us grouping or welding things anymore.

      This has been a problem for a good while on my Xbox, but others have said they can change the skybox on Glacier. Not sure if it would get fixed if I reinstalled Halo, but I don't wanna go thru that. Guess I can ask someone else to change it and save?

      I can't quite understand what the new blocker descriptions are trying to say. Sounds like the Blocker Walls would let they players and objects for one team? Or is it just objects? They just seem to block everything. It would be great if they let players and objects of one team thru.

      The vehicle blockers seem to let thru one team if they're driving vehicles, but not the vehicle without a driver. This is good, but it didn't work in a custom game, they blocked everything (if I remember correctly).

      Put two of them together and add (On Destroyed/Despawn) {Spawn} scripts to them, but keep the Respawn property time set to 10 or so (setting this to 0 or 1 can make them not respawn at all if a player is in the way).

      Maybe a script that constantly attempts to spawn them would work better.

      Don't do a script that continuously spawns and despawns destructible shields unless you enjoy terrible sounds. Or do do that if you enjoy inflicting terrible sounds on others. Jerk.

      Description: Placing your forge reticle over an object when it despawns will cause the object to be deleted outright.
      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Load a blank map.
      2. Place any object.
      3. Script the object to despawn (e.g. On Timer, Despawn).
      4. Have your forge reticle over the object when it despawns.
      5. The object will be deleted from the map as reflected by the object count.

      Found a fix that is so far working everytime. If you group in small amounts until you have all your items it seems to stop from crashing. I made a base with 50+ pieces and slowly added into the group in segments of 2-4 until everything was in it (made group with 4, selected another 3,make group rinse repeat) . Didn't crash. Dupped it moved to the other side of map and then ungrouped it and no issues. Time consuming but better than doing from scratch.

      Backup map spawns aren't working again. Be sure to leave an initial spawn on a blank canvas or you wont be able to work on the map until the next update.

      Breakout pillar secondary color

      Description: The secondary color option for the breakout pillar is missing. The only way to alter the breakout pillar's secondary color is to do a multi-select with an object that does have the option to alter the secondary color and change the secondary color for both objects at the same time.
      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Load a blank map.
      2. Place breakout pillar. Breakout -> Supports -> Breakout: Column [12x12x40]
      3. Select the option and open the object menu.
      4. Secondary color option is completely missing.
      Beacon light flares won't stay off
      Impact:
      Low
      Description: The beacon light fixture will still show lens flares in custom games, or in Forge after reloading the map, when lens flare is set to [none]. This seems to affect other lights as well.
      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Load a blank map.
      2. Place light. Extras -> Lighting -> Light Fixture [1x1x1; beacon]
      3. Lens flares are off by default. Save the map and exit Forge.
      4. Either load the map up in a custom game or Forge. Lens flares will appear on the light.
      Intro cameras do not work reliably
      Impact:
      High
      Description: Intro cameras do not work reliably. When the intro cameras fail, it defaults to showing the "hard coded" static camera that exists on each canvas for the full 13 second duration. They work fine when previewing the intro cinematic under the tools menu in Forge, but not in custom games.
      Steps to reproduce: It's difficult to reproduce. It seems to be linked to the number of intro cameras and the number of shots. For example, placing two intro cameras with one having a duration of 6 seconds and the other a duration of 7 seconds, they will not work, but having four intro cameras each with a duration of 3.20 seems to work just fine.

      Other notes: The intro cameras do not work for me on the blank canvases found under the 343 map folder. I'm assuming that they are set up correctly.

      Sometimes having a object selected, but not being looked at will behave the same way (scripted to despawn, permanently gone if selected but not being highlighted) inconsistent though

      Using scripting to spawn and despawn items in forge will result in some items being permanently being removed and never returning.
