The biggest surprise to me is that there are so many inactive Cartographers. The Forge community is pretty small, and so is the greater Halo community that would be invested in Forge, so I'm not sure how some kind of election system would play out. I definitely think there should be a limit to how long you can "serve" if you aren't active though. Positions like this generally only allow 6 months of inactivity. As for being active in the community, I don't think every CC ought to be prolific, but an important position needs to be as inclusive as possible. I would hope 343 also starts being more transparent on tasks in the future. I don't think surprise announcements are worth all this drama. i'll also add that while @ducain23 may not be representing the largest subset of Forge and Customs, he was showcasing a steady stream of community content throughout the driest period of Forge. I give him props.
Someone get the popcorn the butter and the recliner this gonna be good! But on the other hand if what he said is true the CC system needs a major I mean MAJOR overhaul. 20 INACTIVE people? Seriously come on remove these people then an bring in new forgers who show that they can forge a map. And hiding the fact that 343 ASKED for 2v2 maps and we got the breakout maps just shows this wasn't on 343 but the CC as a whole

Forgehub has been corrupt since Halo 3 lol. I used to be a moderator on the site during Halo 3 and the only reason I got the position (At age 16, lol) was because I made friends with the staff and kept bringing it up. I also was a subpar forger and got multiple and multiple features because of it. I'm not surprised some level of corruptness has carried over to the CC years later. Now obviously not everyone is bad and corrupt I'm just pointing out that corruptness has always been there and it's pretty easy to favor your friends if you're in a position of power. There are no checks and balances. Map testing for contests was also always a little bias towards people we liked. We tried to be fair but again it's always easy to favor people you're friends with or like. It just sucks that the stakes are much higher now (Like getting maps into MM) so knowing the right people gives you an edge. It's unfair yes but since there isn't any democracy about it there isn't much you can do.
Well corruption comes with power, BUT it doesn't make you a giant ****. Some just are, and the real problem is that we can't do anything about it. Pretty much everyone agrees, but it's up to 343 to reevaluate the CC's and the system.
I totally agree. Some people are assholes about their power and abuse it to the full extent. And exactly there isn't anything you can do, which sucks. But being a whistle blower like you are can shake things up if you get enough attention and following. I'm not apart of the community anymore so I really don't care what happens but if what you've said in the video is true then yeah something needs to change. A community voting system (Not staff/CC) and requirements to maintain the position. CC is about being the voice of the community (As you said) so the community should all agree on who they should be, not just a select privileged few.
