Began this for when Infection is released. It is an old oil rig on a dried up sea bed. I intend for it to be full of tight corners and surprise encounters. Trying to avoid walls so using a lot of machinery pieces to guide game play. Might bring in some outside help to make sure the flow doesn't suck. Here is the concept art I am using below. If I have the object count when it is done I will also add the ship (prob only for aesthetics). Anybody have any ideas on keeping a solid industrial aesthetic give me a heads up.
I like the name Fossil. The oil rig was originally there to dig up fossil fuels but now it is abandoned, a "Fossil" of a former era. Also girders will do the trick on giving you that industrial feel.
For the legs of the rig, use those crane bodies. They'll look way better than just blocks. Also, don't forget people live on Oil Rigs. So there should probably be at least a small living area somewhere on the platform.
Took out all the structures and restarted with a new layout. Also touched up the background scenery. Looking alot better now.
Nice. Nothing wrong with restarting for a new layout. Keep up the good work Dunco! I look forward to testing the map when the infection update drops!
