Lol all it takes is one person to say they dont like that map, only because I found it to be the most competitive And I know why it's not a "great" map EDIT 4: I like how rewarding it is to have a good shot on this map, and being able to use little amounts of cover to your advantage while constantly angling yourself towards the other player. Sure it is midship and there are other 2v2 maps in reach I loved, but when synapse dmrs came up we always voted.
Oversoul for 2v2 is fine btw. IDK about obj on it, but we ran slayer on it and way less of the **** fest 4v4 was. Honestly, Gold pro reach was meh. Grenades were op in the game to start with and GP made the game even more nade spammy. I probably would have had no issue with it if we could individually adjust damage in that game because I did like the 4 shot kill dmr. I didn't think it was worth the negative effects that the settings had on everything else. Also, the gold pro map rotation was largely based on people hating the gray of forge maps in Reach. How do you think a map like damnation was played. A map that largely worked due to players being able manipulate spawns and nade weapons in CE. It was just not good in Reach unless everyone had a jet pack.
That's why you edit dammy to cater towards the game you're playing. I wouldn't have used it in tournies if it wasn't good, not because of people's forge preferences.
Wasn't forge preference it was game play preference. Just like mlg wouldn't have used it in tournies if it wasn't good. Really...smh --- Double Post Merged, Apr 4, 2016 --- The design doesn't work in Reach. I played GP settings on it. The same **** still happened. Hold Green and don't make it to the kill limit. I never played any objective on it so i don't have any comments about it. The map is literally a map that relied on what made CE unique from every other Halo. There was a huge stigma against forge maps that were not remakes in Reach. That is a large part of the reason that and BC were used.
Youre making it sound like GP is a gaming league company like MLG that has to factor in viewership, im the one thats been running the tournies and making the gametypes for at least the last 3 years lol. We used to have 1 FS just for maps that were (the majority) forge maps that kinda kills that theory too. And you're not playing the GP dammy clearly (the camo at red alone kills the green set up, as well as the LOS changes, extra lift and changes at blue, 60s power ups and 90s/120s weapons), the map is edited to Reach mechanics. Tournament matches never went anywhere near time, at all.
I have played it and throwing a band aid on it only helps so much. All gold pro is a band aid. A poor one at that. I played it when people were actually playing Reach still. My experience with GP was before you were involved so no theories here only experience. Sure my memory is probably a little rusty. I can say I only played it 4v4 on Dammy and I can agree it was much better than what MLG did. It doesn't change the fact it still wasn't good. Also, read my post a little better everything other than memento is a remake. I am glad that your small group of people enjoy the gametype for tournaments. If there were changes made to the map in the last three years I don't know about then I could be wrong but just because camo is in red and there is a lift doesn't change the fact that los towards the top of the map and the bottom of the map are easy to control and it is not like someone won't know a rough estimate when camo is up and how to prepare for it and reach camo was no where near as good as CE camo. You act like I didn't use fast timers myself. I know what worked in Reach. The the damage buff and damnation were not something that did. Like I said if you could have just buffed the dmr it would have been fine but settings didn't allow for this.
