Actually posted something like this a while ago on HC. Glad to see a Smash thread on FH, too. By the way, Samox, the guy who made the documentary, is making another short documentary in the format of a movie right now. As far as this preview looks it is going to be ridiculously good, haha.
Oh my God, Top 8 was insane! Plup destroyed Colbol, S2J huge upset, Mango almost won against Hax with his Marth in winners, then 3-0'd him in losers. And once again he plays against HBox, who's in winners... But unfortunately no bracket reset. Seeing Hax again was great, although everybody wants to see that Captain Falcon! And of course, Wife and Husband commentating Top 8 was priceless. When the top players play, it's just such a different game. It's amazing to watch!
I know a few names, but I only keep tabs on those representing my mains, Bow jr (so tweek and vicegrip) and lucas which i can't recall who uses him.
I didn't catch singles, but I was able to tune in for the latter part of doubles. Plupbox vs PewFat was insane. PewPewU was doing so well. I'm going to a local Sm4sh tournament tonight in St Louis. Should be fun.
Singles was yesterday. You can go rewatch the top 8 at VGBootcamp twitch. So far the discussion has been about Melee, which is probably why you might not recognise the names. So sad about S2J. Also, I didn't even get to see Axe play; he's one of my favourites. I love that we're entering an era of HBox domination. It's very exciting to watch.
Actually going to my first real melee tournament tomorrow night in Renton, WA... Anyone here have Dolphin/Netplay? I main Link, so it's easy wins for you
Smashville is a pretty nuetral stage for most match-ups, so that's probably why most people agree to play it first. It has a platform, blast-zones are just right, etc. I do wish there were more tournament viable stages, though.

That was the highlight of the tournament for me. After that it kinda went downhill. Another Armada v HBox final AND Armada won, how boring.
Yoooo, I swear. N0ne's Falcon in Get On My Level was the most hyped Falcon everrr in a tournament. Period. He's my favourite to watch right now.
