That game was one of strangest things that ever happened to me. I was just ****ing mind ****ed. I'm ready for that level of troll now. That game was an anomaly in my other wise great back smack avoiding career.
I wish I had saved the game film. It's one thing to do well playing melee only. It's another to carry your team.
I totally hear you, and it's a valid point. As I mentioned above, me and my bandmates are faced with this dilemma all the time when performing or recording records, etc. Understanding if you've succeeded or not is one of the hardest parts of any creative effort. It's not math, there's no right or wrong answer out there. I'd prefer to know what I'm doing wrong than to keep doing the wrong thing blindly as well, but I'm just saying there's no need to knock this one guy that's trying to be polite. There are definitely enough assholes out there to balance it out. Feedback is a two way street. In general I think everyone needs to give a bit more detail when posting feedback, and forgers need to not be babies about hearing what's wrong with their maps. I got a 9.0 review on one of my first maps that said "great aesthetics!" even though it's fairly obvious that the gameplay on that map is lacking. Now people look at that map first before looking at other, far better designs I've made that have actual feedback posted on them...You're right, that's not good. Likewise, I've been sent messages on XBL that only say "gay map" with no other context. Both of these statements are equally useless. You're right that it comes across as fake to people that have been around long enough to know what's good and what's bad, and he should lay off at that point. But I think if all he's doing is clicking the 'like' button a lot, then that's probably more good than bad for new members. It's intimidating to jump into something when there are a lot of members around with the "senior member" tag floating around. This being said, feel free to criticize my designs as harshly as you like. I'll be an adult about it...just don't bother with those first two maps I posted. They are polished turds and I haven't figured out to delete them from the site yet.
Half the people being suggested as Cartographers are horrible choices. That and I'm tired of my bullshit reputation of being "too abrasive" to be in any position of responsibility in the community.
Not sure if really unpopular, but 343 art style and writing (even Halo 4) are too, too bad. They didn't understand anything of its essence. I've been doing a Halo Wars tribute in the last few days and I had to rewatch infinite times all the cutscenes. Ensemble Studios had been really respectful and faithful, they understood Halo: art style, writing, music. Everything. If I look at what we have now I'm really sad.
Are you my father?... No really, he said that as if there was a thread somewhere where people were being mentioned for possible CC positions. I would like to see who they are, I still love this community & I want to know who will be helping continue with the legacy. Seen many Jedi flow through but many were not pure with the force & succumbed to the dark side.
I'm sure there are rumors floating around in party chat and such. I haven't been involved in any of those conversations though, so I don't know what the rumors are. Sorry.
Hey, thanks for calling me a G, I appreciate it I really wanna give more feedback on maps in general, though. As for the feedback part, I agree with everyone, but only in certain situations. If I am talking to new people, I will say something like "this seems a bit akward, maybe try this?" But, if I am talking to purely I will say something like "this is ass, fix it." I really think this is the best way of giving feeback. You can say everything you want without being a ****, but if you know the person won't get offended, it doesn't matter.
At least you have a reputation. I've felt like the red headed step child of this forge community for years. No matter what I do nobody seems to give a frick.
Welcome to Forgehub. My name is zombievillan and it's nice to meet you. Be sure to stop by the introduction thread & introduce yourself.
