GT: OldsirenDC Map: Minery Gametype: strongholds, and regular team slayer Player Count: 4 vs 4 http://www.forgehub.com/maps/minery.1805/ Due to a busy schedule can they fill out these questions below after playing the map and what would be the best way of knowing if they played it because I might miss their stream or something like that? 1) Is the map fun? 2) Does the map have any aesthetic issues, EX: framerate drop in areas, texture overlap, ect. 3) Does the map flow well for competitive play 4) Are visual callouts easy to identify or note? 5)Any spawning issues? 6) Do you feel the gametypes fit the map and which felt best? 7) Any bugs or issues in general that you found? Thank for at least looking at the map giving feedback if they do.
Has this map seen any testing yet? Remember this lobby is for maps that have been through a thorough testing phase and are just about ready to rock. This lobby is also focused solely on gameplay and so you aren't going to get much aesthetic feedback- on that note things like frame drops and textures and lighting are all things you can pretty easily check on your own. I did run around on your map and you are def dropping frames left and right it's the trees and Windows. I also think OS is too hard to get to and I'm a little concerned that the map is too big or at least too segmented. But putting it thru it's paces in test lobbies will answer all those questions for you and help you get this rig properly developed. Check out @Max Extra he has a great Friday night lobby. @Duke of Mearl runs tests almost every night but the official one I believe is on Sunday's. And @iParanormal has a great lobby on Saturdays. Get some testing in there and make improvements. Once those guys give you the thumbs up we will get the sweat dripping!
Yes I have tested it multiple times, nobody has said anything about frame rate issues other than you but I will take a look. OS is meant to be a secret kind of spot, I'm not going to make it easier to get to but if you think it will affect the gameplay I can just remove it
As far as the frame rate drops I found them pretty obvious. They definitely got worse on some of my maps esp with trees after the latest update 343 put out so if you haven't tested it since then that might explain it. regarding OS, i think having a secret spot for something useful might be a really cool idea on the map. OS feels to me like a classic power-up that teams are going to want to fight over and thats of course a really great way to move people around your map and create points of interest. I'm pretty decent at skill jumps and it took me a few to get to your OS. I don't think it's going to be secret, I just think it's going to be frustrating. It's also a death sentence if teams decide to keep eyes on it. i think smart teams will just bait with it. All that said if you really believe in it don't take it off your map on my account. I would like to see your map go through a few tests with one or all of @Max Extra @Duke of Mearl or @iParanormal s lobbies and get the go ahead from them. This is not just for you. All of the maps coming into the UCC lobby go through a prerequisite testing process. The idea here is for you to get the most out of all the testing. If a map isn't quite ready yet for the sweaty kids then you won't get as much from that lobby as you need to get your map dialed in. that said maybe its perfect and ready to go, but I can't say until it goes through some of the other lobbies. Does that make sense?
When I tested it last was two days before finding this thread and posting it so about four of five days ago, and I always ask the testers if they had any issues and nobody said anything about frame drops. So something is up, like I said I'm gonna look at it but I have a busy week with meetings and work so don't really have time to edit stuff or check on their streams. I would really like to get feedback on it, even if it doesn't pass. And finally yes what you posted does make sense sorry if it sounds aggressive or anything, text doesn't really speak emotions unless its with ! or . so.... yea --- Double Post Merged, Mar 28, 2016 --- Is there anyway of you sending me a message on xbox like an hour or so as a heads up? @OldsirenDC I ran around your map with a couple people and there are some frame rate issues (mostly around the middle section) but they aren't terrible. However, there are some things I've seen in the map that could be improved upon. If you see me on and I'm not in the middle of something we can talk about it (maybe run around your map)
The quality of gameplay happening on the stream is amazing folks and for those of you with maps that are already nicely setup this is a great way to get feedback. Warning! It is highly suggested that you have a map that you've vetted with a large number of regular players.
