Hey guys, So just starting this off by saying that my map Hercules has gone through many changes over the last few days. So many that it deserves to have it's own name, theme and thread here on Forgehub. (I couldn't figure out how to delete my Hercules WIP thread, so mods, you can delete it I present to you: The Yard "The top floor of this converted underground prison has been the host of many Spartan combat exercises. 2-8 players." This is The Yard. The fiction behind it is that it was the top floor (a yard for inmates to get recreation/sun in) of an abandoned underground prison in Sedra. In reality, it is an asymmetric Team Slayer map that can support 2-8 players, but 4v4's are recommended. The weapon set-up is as follows: Rocket Launcher (1) Sniper Rifle (1) Halo 1 Magnum (1) Overshield (1) BR (2) SMG (2) AR (1) Plasma Pistol (1) As of tonight, there are no grenades on the map, but that will change by tomorrow. I designed this map as sort of a re-imagining of Pegasus, as well as fix the problems Pegasus has. In it's near final state, it has lost most of it's resemblance to Pegasus, but shares a few design concepts. I really wanted it to be a map built for competitive play, but also is approachable for the general community. I would say The Yard is in it's beta stage. The layout of the map will stay (mostly) the same. The aesthetics need tons of work. This is something I would love to have a co-forger for. Also, the spawns and weapon set is likely to change. I would love to have some playtesters for this map. I really feel like it's my best work yet. Hit me up if you can either help me playtest or co-forge. I'll put a few more pictures here. Thanks guys!

I got a chance to walk around on this map yesterday, and I think it's looking good. My main concern with the current design is that it lacks that middle room from pegasus, which really did a lot for the map. I think you should implement the room, but you not exactly like it was in the original. Maybe you could have the room connected on the outside on multiple levels? That would spice up gameplay but still serve as the focal point. Anyways, let me know of you make any changes and I would be happy to take a look

Well, there already is a central platform that kind of connects the map, and currently houses a CE magnum. Maybe add walls so it becomes a room, and a easier space to hold down?
So we played this during the March 18th forged friday. sorry the feedback is so late ive been more than busy this week end. here are some things i saw and thought. The spawns need some work. you may want to look in to better placement, spawn zones, or weighting, or all three. the map felt like a much better version of pegasus, but was really open. i would suggest more segmentation and or cover through out the map to break up some of the sightlines. I would also look in to adding some Stormrifles to the map as the would help counter act the OS. maybe a needler or plasma pistol as well. I think with a bit more work on the sightlines and spawning this map can be even more fun, and turn out great. I would love to add future versions of this to Forged friday play tests.
Sweet man. Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I'm not great with spawning, and I don't really understand spawn zones. I'll have to look into that. I'm glad it played like a better version of Pegasus, as that was the original intention with this map. Where do you think the map could use more cover or segmentation? And there is a plasma pistol going up the ramp to Top Blue. I could replace it with a storm rifle? I could really use some help with this stuff, if you or anyone else is free to forge sometime this week? Thanks again man.
message me sometime and i can try and stop by and help out. as far as segmenting goes, you dont have to make room, but you ought to break long lines of site by walls or columns or cover.
