That feel when you try to jump from OS to healthpack on Prisoner but lead it wrong and fall down and die.
I've seen starcraft. It's got immense knowledge skill but it lacks sorely in the mechanical skill aspect, which is really why we all play video games. I think quake has the most of both.
Thats just not true. Actions per minute is one of the most important parts of starcraft. An average player like me has around 60 apm on a good day, so 1 click per second. Pros and grandmasters have anywhere from 200-250. That is faster than I can fake type, and every click means something. Not only that, but there is something called micro, which is how you manage your army. You can literally out br people in starcraft with micro. pair all of this with chess on crack and you have the most competitive game of all time by far
Okay, that's fair. I'm probably not giving it nearly as much credit as I should, but I still don't think any top down game of any kind will carry the technical skill of a game from first person. ESPECIALLY a game with the shooting skill of quake. But my opinion probably won't mean much until I look more into starcraft myself.
I cant believe I read all of that. Im a sweat, played h2 and h3 and gotta say H2>H3. I have a friend who literally played h3 everyday from launch to MCC and he would defend that game so much. Like I would say one bad thing about h3 and he would lose his ****. He fell in love with h2 on mcc and that is H2V. He admits to this day I was right about h3 If you like H3 that is fine, but as Multi said there is too many things that ruin it competitively IMO
I like RPGs and turn based games, but I personally can't take any game where you spend 99% of it clicking seriously. I tried League of Legends out with friends for a week and I was bored to tears.
Yeah I was going to jump in before somebody beat me to it, Starcraft easily trumps quake in terms of difficulty. There's nothing really close to it, it's still bigger than its sequel in Korea and still played at a high level. There's plenty of footage of a camera on a players keyboard, 200+ apm is just insane, never mind the strategic element to it
Solid post btw, always nice to see people admit they flipped on opinion because they read up on a subject, il read it later and correct a couple of things with it
I personally think league of legends is just a super boring game. I suggest trying smite or starcraft. Both are riveting experiences, and easily my favorite two pc games.
Heroes of the Storm is a much more entertaining game for the people who want to experience a MOBA for fun and not as a serious hobby. They really try wacky stuff with their heroes and maps over there. The matches are much faster paced too. 15 - 20 minutes instead of 30-1 hour.
Mobas aren't for me. I'm not into the whole "hero" concept unless it's a party game like Smash. Ain't got time to learn the nuances of dozens of characters. It's actually what turned me off of LoL more than the clicking. I can't invest in a character driven game without vanity because it always comes down to choosing the character with the best stats as opposed to the one you actually like. No matter how much they "balance" the roster, it always happens. I'm not fond of the new Smash either partly because there are too many fighters on the roster, but it's not that big of a deal in that game. In LoL the character I wanted to play was only available on certain days, and then all my friends are telling me they aren't that great or I should play someone else. And then the worse part is you'll pick someone you like who is actually good, only to find out that the playstyle doesn't suit you at all. I'm just like "nah breh." I'm not that kind of nerd. Choosing between classes is one thing, but if there are no custom characters, I'm not interested.
League is the main game I play and watch. Very cool experience going to the world championships last year.
Sorry, but that is completely wrong. Don't throw around with superficial knowledge and do some research instead. I don't want to go further, as this thread is about Halo, however you can PM me, if you want.
I don't think you realize how much melee I've played in my life. I've literally gone to tournaments lol there's nothing remotely mental about it. It's just being a better player, that's it. Giving out more damage than you take. I'm not going to pretend like there's some crazy mental depth to it when there's not, it's a pretty straightforward fighting game. --- Double Post Merged, Mar 17, 2016 --- Yeah 343 added bleed through and then removed it a month later. If you go on reach right now it's not there if my understanding is correct.
Well it was there until halo 4 came out. So you are high ******. I played a **** ton of it after that update. Also, Missingno is one of my favorite youtubers. Ran into him a few times playing doubles on mcc ce. He backpacked his teammate hard both times. I was just happy he didn't **** on my life and I managed to go positive because I have played no where near as much CE as that guy has.
