Grouping has been wrecking me as of late too. Every time I'm about to group anything I save just before.
I hate to be that guy, but the Shire isn't the village; that is Hobbiton. The Shire is the entire country of hobbits. Also, to be even more specific, Bilbo and Frodo's home is called Bag End.
Not really a huge Tolkien fan, I just really liked The Hobbit; the book, not the horrendous movies. The other books never grabbed me as much as it did.
The hobbit book had an awesome charm to it. Honestly I couldn't recommend the LOTR books any higher, if you ever get the chance. The best reading I've ever done.
I remember that in 3, Reach and 4 that stuff took 0$ from the budget. I think 343 should improve this limit, it would be really useful.
That's because the budget is a completely different system from the maximum object count. 3, Reach, and 4 all had a max object count as well as their budgets, it was just invisible. And I'm pretty sure stuff like spawns were included in that for those games as well. The only way around that would be to lower the object limit in Halo 5 by a hundred or two, and make the spawns and such not count towards that. Like it or not, the game still needs to load this stuff into the map, so it needs to be a part of the object limit.
A 2x2 chroma screen and a spawn point with no polygons and textures are not the same as a 150 x 98 x 172 rock wall. They shouldn't count the same
There could just be a limit to the amount of objects there can be on one map regardless of how complex they are.
.....I know? That's exactly what's going on now. But it's a poor solution. Should be based around polygons and strain on the engine and nothing else
Could be a separate thing. I'd love to see an in-depth explanation of this kind of stuff at some point.
I would like to see an option that would less us solidify groups of obeject into one object. It would be irreversible and it would require loading up an old map to fix. Clearly there is a work around to having more than 1024 objects. Let's say they made an "obeject" that was called a spawn 1x2 (two spawn points in a line) or 1x4(four spawn points in a line) this clearly would be doable for them but would still only count on the engine as one object. They need to give us an explanation as to why we are hard capped at 1024. At the moment it makes very little sense to me. Edit: Lord Crusnik could probably help explain this as he has dealt with the game code while making many of mods in the previous halos. What's up with the hard object cap lord zedd?
With new hardware multiple times more powerful than the Xbox 360, the hard object limit should have been increased to 1300, this would have at least doubled the amount previously available on the Xbox 360. Xbox 360 - 512MB RAM Xbox One - 8GB RAM (1500% increase) Hard Object Limits Halo 4 651 objects Halo 5 1024 objects (57% increase)
Doubling the frame rate takes more than twice the processing power. And polygons on the screen is more of an issue with shaders and processing power, not so much memory.
