That moment you realize you didn't setup an outro cinematic on your map submission & Halo 5 needs an update. -_-
This is a very early blockout of a 1v1 map. It's called Janus for now. I have some extremely ambitious Ideas for the theme/aesthetics, and If I can pull it off, it'll be
I like posting updates, it helps me get motivated to forge. Most of it ends up deleted, so I guess you could call me the master scrapper This map however will likely be finished as the design has already been proven. Most of my time will be spent on the theme. (the fun part)
Hey all. Some of you may have seen the map that I have been working on in a couple of iParanormal's BTB lobbies. Just going to post a few pictures here, hope they speak for themselves a little. There is an underground portion to the map as well. I am unsure about whether I should try to keep the terrain to be similar to the original map/s, or if I should make it somewhat bumpier for more interesting combat (as I have been doing so far).
Hey I recognize this, that looks sweet! I would definitely work on height adjustments to the natural geo because those outer areas are quite open so I think it would help a lot.
I know when I played on it I thought the ramped tunnels had WAY too steep an incline, it felt like it was a 45° angle or something close. Loved the aesthetic of it though man.
Have 10 lights that spawn consecutively, first the smallest, then get wider until the fifth light. Hold for a couple seconds then decrease the same way. That'd be cool.
Looking at this really makes me appreciate this new forge. 14 year old me would have been blown away to have seen that tower. This is the kind of stuff we dreamed of doing back in Halo 3.
The tunnels are actually 30°, but I know what you mean. They did feel pretty steep in the campaign though. Aside from that, the most common piece of feedback was that it was too big, before, so I reduced the length and width slightly (the whole underground portion is just smaller now), decreased the size/height of the pipes and am in the process of redoing the terrain. I hope I can get it to the point where it is playable and doesn't feel too big, because I quite like the size as it is. And I'm also not sure how I could decrease it any further.
The interior of the building is very much a WIP, but any thoughts on the size? I wanted it to be 4v4, but I'm not really used to making maps of that size so I'm worried I made it way too small. Would it work better for 2v2?
Considering they brought the Cartographers to the studio just to create remakes/reimaginations, I'd imagine they want remakes more than original BTB maps (unless they think there's enough already). Just be patient.
