Totally didn't realize I even said that. I recorded this commentary several times, by the final take I wasn't thinking straight. Whoops!
So it looks like the whole issue with the decals getting offset was fixed with yesterday's hotfix. Should make using this trick much easier for everyone.
This would look baller on that inner city looking Grifball court Mr Pokephile featured in his Feb contest video.
Funny enough, we're helping that map's creator, Katanga, get the map ready for matchmaking consideration, and we're trying to get it to work well enough on there. There is a drop off around 250-300' away from the source, so the color ends up dropping off and fading in, but maybe graffiti toward the middle could be colored.
Oh, that's cool. I was the one that made Infinity stadium, I'm hoping to get it ready so it can be considered too.
I'm glad I saw this now and not before we finished everything up, because id have been heartbroken. That said, I did try light-based graffiti myself on the original version and had a similar problem. But it didn't look that good, I tell you.
Someone should make a shorter and to-the-point tutorial. That 15 minute video is great to show it off, but not ideal as a tutorial in my opinion.
The last like half of the video is irrelevant now, as the decal rotation was fixed in the last update that also fixed invisible blockers.
I've not started one but I've contemplated the return of dispute. Which version did enjoy more? I'm personally a fan of the original and not the HCS version.
Fixed my issue by just replacing the decals that had a slightly different shade of tan with ones that did work.
