What does downloading a map do? (Serious question) Where does it go or is it linked to something? Sorry if I'm overlooking something obvious. Kinda fresh forge fish here
If you mean the button on the site? Nothing atm I'm pretty sure, at least until we get an active file share online for Halo 5. Right now you just have to friend/follow someone on XBL to get maps. If I'm saying things wrong someone please correct me
If you're asking about what happens when you click on the 'Download Map' button on a map post, the answer is that absolutely nothing happens, other than bringing you to whatever link the person entered. It's there in anticipation of online file sharing being added in the future (please 343). Maps can only be downloaded directly through Halo 5.

Yeah that's how it's always been. Halo 5 is just slow... Halo 4 didn't have it at launch either, but they got it up within a few months if I remember.
