Are placed lights not baking in custom games for any of you guys? Trying to see if this is an issue I've caused myself or if it's something that was introduced in the latest update. FWIW my lightmap is sub-40% and the only major thing I'm doing differently than a normal map is that I'm building "out of bounds" where the default lighting doesn't show.
Either A or C Also, is it not possible to script object movement without it being so jumpy? I need a smooth movement.
Still no luck on that platform? I never got a chance to get on and try to get one working today I've noticed some jumpiness with my elevator but I have passed it off as a result of the high speed I have it moving. Edit: @Mr Bouncerverse c looks best to me, but I think that is only because it looks like there is more variation in the "background"? If possible I'd do a with the background style of c lol
It's probably a glitch. I had a map I was working in a month ago that had a similar issue. Sometimes when I'd load up the map it would let me generate lighting. Other times it wouldn't. Sometimes I'd load it up and it wouldn't let me generate lighting, so I'd quit and reload it and then it would work. I have no explanation. Maybe it's a server related issue (total guess)? I agree with Zombie. I'd lean more towards A, but I'm selfishly hoping you don't use it because I'm planning to do something like that at some point, lol.
Well I am just trying to get it to raise up, stay, then go back down every 2 minutes with damage boost on it. I have this working but it's pretty jumpy. When I weld the platform it acts as if it is normal physics & just rolls around under water. So I just scripted every piece to the action I want. So not only is it jumpy, but seperate pieces jump seperately. One thing I noticed is that it is only jumpy in the 1st pass, the next few times its smoother & I think with some tinkering it won't be too bad. Plus I noticed someone else's cool map with a similar idea has the same problem so maybe it's not so bad. I may have given up on the screw type spinning. Apparently you need bushings and cranks & such which only allow continuous spinning which is not what I am going for.
Still working on my blockout. I forgot how to record longer than just the 30 seconds. Anyone got a link to a tutorial on how to do the longer version (no kinect)?
@no god anywhere Do you know about the world reflection camera? Check around your zero coordinates, 0,0,0. Do you have any pieces near it or covering it?
I have seen this when I have loaded other peoples maps up sometimes. Not even just parallax. Then I must be experiencing something different. This just seems like a glitch because it doesn't happen everytime I see whatever map it is that is draped in the red pinkish tint.
Making progress... again. (Totally scrapped the map from the video and started all over again) As @WARHOLIC requested, a wooden bridge. I know, it's sticking out of the rock, but this type of bridge suits better for this kind of terrain in the beginning. I'll make another bridge with two 'sides'. I'm totally in love with this effect on Alpine. It makes you feel as if you're higher up in the mountains. [Sunset, Distant Fog to 10 thickness] Unfortunately you can still see the water... In case you're wondering, yes, the lava will raise up the boulder. The boulder is chasing you until the end of the map. This trick is necessary due to the low ceiling of the canvas. 343 really needs to higher the ceilings of the forge canvases, I mean, Forge Island/World were twice as high as all of them... Trust me, setting this up to work was a sweaty process. lol That's it for me, sorry for spamming pictures.
Thinking about starting a new 4v4 wip. Anything cool the forgehubbers would like to see, design or astheix wise?
Is it possible to disable the "Interact" prompt on switches? I would like to use one for decoration but don't want to confuse players.
