Hey people, current progress on a 2v2 map I've been playing around with. Just looking to gather some feedback on the design, aesthetics, and layout. Please keep in mind, it's for 2 v 2 and nothing else. Because video is a much better way of showcasing a map, I've amde a showcase video for your viewing pleasure - any feedback would be most appreciated.
The aesthetics on this map are really great. Hopefully it'll play as solid as it looks. I need to get a game going on it.
After walking around on the map, I really feel that it need 1 more route on each side. Maybe it could connect the bases to the outside area? Even a couple teleporter sets would go a long way.
Yeah, like an overlook to the right of red spawn and to the left of blue. Another option would be to have 2 senders where the pillars are right in the begining of the video. They could each take you to their sides respective bases. I prefer the teleporter Idea as another overlook might make the bases too powerful.
I have to admit I have a bit of a dislike towards teleporters...I'll have a play around with the idea.

Loving the map! It looks very clean, but I think that maybe you should tone down the shininess of the green pillars, even if just a little bit. I agree with both you and Xandrith. Having a couple of extra routes to the plasma caster (from the sides) would be quite good, but I too have a distaste for teleporters. This is perhaps a strange idea, but you could have drop down "tunnels" from red and blue spawns that end up on either side of the outside area.
Okay, so as per Xandriths suggestion/recommendation - additional paths added. (added Carbine spawn) And yeah, you can mancannon between each side, kinda like Narrows. Opinions?
I don't know about the gameplay, but you've definitely a done a much better job at keeping the a consistent theme with curved objects without just placing cylinders and rings everywhere like you did on Domain. Nice job.
Looks awesome! I'll try to get some games on it and let you know what I think. If the bases become too powerful I would suggest closing off the first opening you created, forcing people to the carbine platform if they want to take that route. EDIT: After walking around on it again I can't say I have any complaints at all. I'll get some games on it today.
Ha, get out of my brain! I'm playing with ways to block the route past top lift so there's no direct route between the two bases. EDIT: Just saw your edit. Yet to play a full game on it my, so let me know how it goes. The only thing I think needs work is spawns.
I'm pretty happy with the angles and cover available to be honest, but will see how we get on with playtesting. I've opened up the bases at the back to let in more of the sky box. Not a huge change, but man is it pretty.
