    FORGE BUG REPORT THREAD

    I'm sure you are all loving the new tool set but if you happen to stumble across bugs or have complaint issues please post them here. Remember to be respectful when posting your comments, the team at 343 that will be addressing your concerns in future updates. Lets help them help us;)

    WHAT MAKES 343 LIFE'S EASIER FOR BUG REPORTS:
    - Take screenshots of what you are referring to when you can
    - Submit video links / DVR as much as possible so they can confirm bugs faster.

    Note to all:
    Do not delete the initial spawn points on your canvas. Set them aside or move them when you are ready. 343 is aware of issues that occur when these spawn points are deleted. They will resolve this in the future, in the meantime just keep them on your map.

      The Multi Condition doesn't seem to be working correctly when you have it detect multiple messages at once.

      Here's the original post about it.

      Edit. According to buddhacrane, the Multi condition detects power changes as messages for some reason. This is pretty gamebreaking, to be honest.

      HUD doesn't show how to switch between move-axis.

      Pretty sure it pops up when you press L1. No need to show buttons that aren't relevant on a particular screen.

      You made me turn my Xbox on, which I didn't want to do, which made me reset 2 routers and a hub, so that I could re-log back into Halo which wouldn't connect to Microsoft so I had to restart Halo only to find that you were right!

      Although I think the feeling was that it was enough screen space used to show all the other buttons and more important to show which state you were in via the box at the top of the screen.

      And yes 'you' made me, YOUUU!!!

      On another note, my $15 soup was crap and I'm not happy about it.

      I have run into the "Saving...Failed" issue multiple times. On one occasion it was my own map that i had an issue with and i thought maybe it had something to do with maxing out the physics bar but after taking a few objects out i still had the same issue. More recently I was trying to edit CastleWars by ProngedVermin0 as there were a few additions i wanted to make. Anywho, I ran into the same problem. Not sure if this time it was due to the fact that I was editing someone else's map. If that is the problem I would rather that the original author have their gamertag stamped on it and the map show in the description that I edited it (like reach). Hope this is fixed soon, I'm losing the motivation to forge when things happen like this.

      • Decals change position in-game, so sometimes they are sticking out from the wall or they are hidden inside the wall completely. [link]

      This seems to be new for me:
      When duplicating an object while a different object is selected, the duplicate often appears in the wrong position (slightly shifted usually)

      Some of the new ramp pieces and block pieces (changed by the Infinity Armory update) do not align perfectly with magnets anymore.

      Perhaps you are not familiar with the way the duplicate tool behaves? When duping an object that you are looking at, it will create the new one directly adjacent to the original in your direction. If you are not looking at it, it will try to place the duplicate where you are looking.

      I am having this issue. lights set to dynamic off or on are no longer baking into the map. Causing distant areas to be engulfed in darkness. This makes cross map conflicts near impossible until someone aims down sight then the lights "pop in" this just started with the last update yesterday.

      First photo is in forge after generating lighting.

      Second and third photo is in a custom game. Notice the darkness while unzoomed and once you ADS the lights "pop".

      I hope this gets fixed soon.

      My maps are not saving at all. No quick save, manual save or save as new map...

      Nothing happens at all. No dialog or even saving...failed.

      Oh, you didn't know about the new fix? It uses the, "you can't fail if you never try" approach.

      What do you guys think of this? Specifically what is causing these differences? It should be the same by any means, but it isn't. It was stated that object shifting is gone now, so it shouldn't be the case here.

      Copy & pasted from another post: Furthermore I doubt object shifting is the reason, since I saved the map that I played in a custom game as a new one and tried it out again, both in a custom game and a forge game (I am talking about the second example in the video here). It worked in Forge, but didn't in customs. So for the final version of the map I had to raise the chunk piece, sideeffect being the hole is now passable by sliding and crouching through it, unfortunately.

      From the times I've heard and the times I've experienced, it seems to be related to the previous grouping bug. Let's hope it was fixed in the recent patch. I've had to rebuild a considerable amount of my map a few times now due to this issue. It's part of the reason I haven't released a map yet. I've made sure to ungroup objects before saving as a countermeasure. That, and an excessive amount of sequential saves.
